I love this little place! The biscuits and gravy are always amazing! The staff are attentive, friendly, and fast. The food is always hot, fresh, and correct. I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad experience here!! My only complaint…. They don’t stay open long enough. Highly recommend!!!

This restaurant came highly recommended by the hotel I’m staying at while traveling for work — and now I see why! I always try to support local “mom & pop” places, and The Waffle Company absolutely did not disappoint.
My omelette was fantastic — fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. But what really stood out was the hospitality. I was shocked (in the best way!) to learn at the end that the sweet, attentive waitress who took care of me all morning was actually the owner.
You can truly feel the pride and heart in this place.
If you’re looking for great food, warm service, and that genuine hometown feel — look no further. Highly recommend!

An unassuming, bustling breakfast joint right off the main drag. Small dining room that was so full of customers there was standing room only to wait in line, and YES, it was worth the wait. (We didn't have to wait very long to be seated.) Quick service. Good food. We had the chicken and waffles and a nicely loaded omelet. Waffles weren't as crunchy as he would have liked, but they tasted good. We will definitely be back.

I had never eaten Chicken and Waffles before, from the reviews, I decided it was time. Delicious combination of flavors and their waffles were perfect. The establishment was very clean, the service was great. Very friendly ♡ Definitely will be going back.

Located at the West end of Times Square Mall in a separate building shared with Domino's Pizza, this cozy spot is fairly easy to find and easily accessible. There's minimal signage which makes it easy to miss but you'll be glad you found it once inside. With somewhere between 12 and 16 tables, seating is ample but not crowded. There is a wheelchair ramp from the parking lot to the side entry door giving mobility challenged persons easy access.
Wait staff is attentive and friendly, sharing their workload so everyone is taken care of properly. I can say I did not have to ask for more drinks or condiments. These ladies are the quality of service example other restaurants should strive to achieve.
I chose the Mexican Scramble: a plate of 3 eggs, sausage, chorizo and veggies served over a bed of hash browns, topped with Monterrey Jack cheese. To my taste, the chorizo was very mild. My waitress did bring hot sauce so I was able to adjust the spice level to my liking. (Did I mention their attentive wait staff?) The food is quite good. Portions are an excellent match for the price and certainly filling. For drinks, I chose coffee with my breakfast. The coffee is a tasty blend but I found it to be a little on the soft side, typical of restaurants in my area.
All in all, Waffle Company is a great choice for a home style breakfast if you're out and about in Mt Vernon, Illinois.
