AJ's Hot Dogs, Subs & Gyros

For a place that calls themselves a Gyro joint, they can't even make a proper Gyro. It's dry, bland, and tasteless. this is because they like to put their sauce directly on the pita then the rest of the toppings when it should be toppings then sauce to prevent it from being dry. Wife's Chicago dog and fries were good, as were the fried zucchini, but as far as I'm concerned, they can't make a gyro for the life of them.

I really enjoy this restaurant. The service is fast, and the food is always fresh. Although there's a bit of a wait for the food, it only adds to the experience, knowing it's made to order. My husband and I had their sub sandwiches, which were absolutely delicious—definitely better than Mr. Submarine. The sandwiches are huge, packed with plenty of meat and toppings. You won't be disappointed. In fact, it took us two days to finish just a small sub! We're already planning another visit the next time we're in the area.

The decor is very dated . And falling apart . The manager is nice and fast with taking orders but you kinda get the feeling he doesn't want to be there . (I understand good help is hard to find .) The food is good and real .. Gyros and subs .win.... I saw 3 people order the gyro burger ... I'm sure the tacos are yummy. Fresh fries ... And huge portions ... They have a happy hour like menu... Everyday . Quiet place is sit for a minute. Parking is ok. Oh and they make milk shakes the correct way .

Vegetarian options: Guy ordered veg sub while I was in line.
Also I think you can get grilled veggies on a sub.

The best beef sandwich in the area. We’ve tried them all and we finally found the place after 29 years of living in New Lenox. You have to try it. You’ll be hooked!

It was a little expensive for a gyro sandwich, but it was packed with meat and moist, not dried out. The greek salad and dressing were very good. My wife really enjoyed the veggie melt. We'll be back again.

This place has really went down hill . The food was amazing once with the best gyros around . Now they are a greasy ball of meat that tastes old and tough. I gave them a few chances but after last night I have to move on .

Everything was fantastic! The portions that you receive compared to what you pay are amazing! When I'm in the area for work, I stop by here to get food for myself and my coworkers. We love it!
