Disappointed. I rarely write bad reviews but unfortunately tonight I need to share my experience. I walked in at 6:40pm on Saturday and the restaurant was not busy. I was placing a to-go order for 1. I was looking forward to a pulled pork sandwich and when I went to order it, I was told they were OUT. I should have realized that is a major red flag and left, but I didn't, instead I ordered a more expensive item, the single barrel platter, brisket for $24. I waited about 15 minutes and when I received my order I thought it was a mistake for how small the portion size of the brisket were. It's been over six months since the last time I ordered from here, but when I did, the portion sizes were much larger. I inquired with the hostess to ensure it was correct and I was told, it was. I decided to wait before judging the restaurant as if the food tasted amazing it would make up for the high price/small qty. but unfortunately that didn't happen. The brisket was dry, the mac and cheese had an apple vinegar flavor, that was just odd. The positive was, the corn bread and smoked baked beans were pretty good, but not enough to go here again. There are better options in the area and I will continue to go to them.

First time. We like to try different brisket places. He had brisket. I had burger. He liked his brisket. I decided to eat my burger without the bun. I liked it. Inside restaurant seems pretty good for Friday of labor day weekend. Pretty quiet before other customers arrived. Young person attending to our table was nice. Music not too loud. TV not too loud. Pretty decent.

Brisket was way too smoky. Left a taste in my mouth like I had eaten ashes. Won’t be going back.
First and last time here. This place came highly recommended but sadly my elderly mother and I were very disappointed. My 2 brothers live in town and always order the rib tips which they said were very good, but never tried the ribs since they were very pricey - $28 for a full slab - no sides! Since I'm not a rib tip guy, I splurged on a full rack of baby backs. Unfortunately the meat was not tender or succulent like ribs should be. They were very dry throughout, burnt and tough especially on the small end side, overly smokey and so bland tasting. Obviously unseasoned, way overcooked, fall off the bone tasteless meat covered with an unpleasant tasting bbq sauce, unless the flavor of the sauce was altered by the excess smoke and black char. What a waste of money! I opted for the dinner/meal which came with 2 sides; the fries were okay, crispy and seasoned well, but the baked mac-n-cheese was totally inedible... just a pile of mush with an absolutely disgusting cheese sauce. My mother ordered the prime rib tacos, and this too... the meat was not tender at all, it was very dry, overcooked, tasteless other than the overpowering smokey flavor. The nachos it came with were also drenched in that nasty sweet cheese sauce, rendering them inedible as well. All in all, this meal was defintely NOT worth the whopping $55. Perhaps since it was later in the evening on Saturday, the remaining meat was left on the heat source far too long and became overly dry, smokey, and charred. Im not a fan at all and will be sure to let others know. I say stick to Famous Dave's, BearDown BBQ, and Hog Wild for some of the best BBQ around.

I've been there several times now to try a few different things and I can say I've never been disappointed. The pork, brisket, and burger were excellent and definitely the best fries in town. My wife and I have put it on our regular rotation.

The food is amazing!! The burger was perfectly cooked, and the pulled chicken sandwich and pulled pork sandwich are outstanding. Definitely the best fries in new Lenox! All the sides are amazing, favorites are Mac and cheese and Cole slaw. 10/10 recommend.

Bad experience. Tiny portion sizes. More like a sample platter to me, not worth the 40 minute wait with only 4 other parties in the dining room. I got brisket, ribs, and wings. The brisket was cold, dry, and tasted more like lighter fluid than a natural smoky taste. I’m from Texas, so I know BBQ. The ribs were chewy. Wings were ok. I got Mac and cheese and Corn Pops as a side, and both were below average, dry, and had an odd flavor. Will not be returning. Owners need to make some serious adjustments, or a “For Sale” sign will be their future.

Eh, it was ok. For a family owned restaurant not bad, but we eat at Famous Dave’s a lot which is our benchmark and we’d prefer to drive the extra distance to eat there. This wasn’t bad at all, in fact the quantity of the food was a lot. The atmosphere is fantastic, clean, well run, A+ for atmosphere. I think we were expecting the food to be outstanding and it was just good enough. I would recommend if you live nearby. But if you’ve been to Famous Dave’s or have had real Texas BBQ, then this doesn’t taste as good.

Sat for over 1/2 hour waiting on food tonight. Nobody in the restaurant. Smelled really good, but like they say Where's the Beef ~ Where's the Food, staff???
Read the reviews, very sad....... landed up paying $20 on a tray of fried pickles, one soda, 2 watered down tea. Tasted just like water, but we were charged.

Staff was inattentive, left us standing waiting to be seated by the sign advising to do so as they prepared a to go order just to then finally tell us to sit anywhere- beyond ignorant/rude. Waited even longer for our drinks, watered down and gross, cups looked dirty, tables were sticky and you could see there was food and dirt everywhere. We left without eating, there was another customer complaining when we left- wouldn't recommend.

Hate to leave any review, but with the price for a 21.99 dinner .. with the smallest portion of brisket I have ever seen, this is just ROBBERY !! 2 people ate for 50 bucks, & it was like sample portions. The slices of brisket were 2 x 2 inches, 5 tiny pieces .. 2 sides , beans & coleslaw were ok, cornbread was good.. They were out of hush puppies, & 2 other sides which was fine.. But not anywhere near what other brisket places serve you. Come down in your prices or serve adequate food portions. Really disappointed we drove 30 minutes to come here. (Sigh)
