Very disappointing experience at this location last night. I ordered the pistachio-crusted halibut and it came out dry, rubbery and next to impossible to eat. It was also piping hot, even after sitting on my plate for ten minutes. It was very clear to me that the restaurant likely made a whole pan of this fish *special* then placed it in a warmer until someone ordered. Completely unacceptable practice to not make the fish to order, but charge $27 for it. Hopefully, they will make all fish dishes to order in the future.

This location has a more intimate bience even than the Tinley location. Excellent choices from across the Italian "boot" and great service!Dietary restrictions: I can't have gluten, wife can't have dairy but Gatto's accommodates us both!

Arrived on a busy Saturday night. Huge line of people just waiting to get on a list and the host is nowhere to be found. I asked a server and she said he was in the kitchen. Waited several minutes of no host before deciding to leave. I get being busy but the host shouldn’t be in the kitchen leaving a bottleneck at the front door.

We live walking distance to Gattos and have developed somewhat of a love/hate attitude towards it over the years. But the other night my wife and I stopped in, and what a surprise!!! We were handed a MENU! Yes, a menu. No more twisting around trying to read the chalkboard. No more questioning the poor wait staff endlessly about the menu. Way to go Gatto's.

Been here twice and they haven’t diss appointed. And before I could even ask for water…someone is refilling me.

Terrible food on a recent visit. I had stuffed shells. Under cooked noodles, the sauce tasted like tomato sauce out of a can. It was a joke. No fresh parmesean offered to top it off.My friend had chicken marsala. She was also very disappointed. Said it was bland, no flavor. Also, all of our food came out lukewarm. We did not send anything back because it took so long to get our food we just wanted to eat what we could and get on with our evening and leave. On top of everything else the drinks were really expensive. We won't be back. There are many other great places in the area to give our business to.

I have grown to love Gatto's in New Lenox. My first first meals here several years ago were just OK from what I can remember. However I can now say that I eat at Gatto's more than any other restaurant in the area. Gatto's is truly one of New Lenox's mainstay eateries. The food is consistently good and the service is excellent. They were able to stay open during Covid and kept the majority of staff working which I respect greatly. If I have to have any complaints.... sometimes they are really busy. I guess that is an inevitable side effect of doing everything right. My favorite dishes are the steak with wine sauce (cant remember the actual name....), the bragiole and the balsalmic salmon. The italian wedding soup is excellent too. Keep up the good work Frank and crew!!
Great food and atmosphere!!!
