Every single time I have gotten a dessert from here it has been amazing! Which is why my mom wanted to incorporate this into my bridal shower. My mom came up with the idea to do gift boxes with party themed sugar cookies along with others that would be used for the dessert table.
However, my mom went to pick up the order and was told that only half the order was completed as “an x” on the sheet made it appear the other half was canceled (the additional cookies). My mom was told nothing could be done as cookies are made two days ahead of time.
This order was placed all at once, in store, and with the owner. There was no communication during this process to even check in with my mom to see if it was in fact actually canceled, because the invoice price did not reflect half the order was canceled.
I am just disappointed and upset that my mom has been busting her butt to make this special for me. Now, instead of relaxing the rest of the afternoon she was running around trying to find a replacement option. I am at least thankful that the guest gifts were correct and they are beautiful!
Moral of my story this place is great to run in and grab something quick, custom orders do not recommend.

I ordered custom Moana cookies for my daughter’s 5th birthday from sugar shake for the first time. We will definitely be ordering for her birthday every year. They were a huge hit and everyone couldn’t stop saying how good they were. The detail on the cookies exceeded my expectations! Thank you Samantha and sugar shack team :)

I find reviews very helpful, especially for the local and small businesses in my area. First time I went to Sugar Shack Cookie this past weekend to get some of those delicious pop tarts. The employee who took care of me was very friendly and helped me pick out the best flavors. They were for a coworker's birthday and they loved them. Everyone thought they were delicious.

Sam and her Sugar Shack crew have been creating delicious desserts and beautifully decorated cookies for our family for years (since before she opened the New Lenox bakery). We have used them for every wedding shower, baby shower, celebration & event and have never been disappointed. They listen to every detail and create exactly what you want. Just last weekend they created the most amazing farmers market themed cookies in the perfect color scheme for my nieces baby shower! The best part is that not only does it look fabulous, everything tastes even better. From the cookies, cupcakes, fruit tarts & trifles to the pecan, lemon & cherry-almond bars, everything is delicious every time! But if you go to the bakery, the cinnamon rolls & homemade pop tarts are a must try. You won’t be disappointed!

These custom cookies completely exceeded my expectations — they were pure perfection. Each one was a tiny work of art, beautifully detailed and completely on theme. I couldn’t get over how precise and clean the designs were — they looked too pretty to eat, but I’m so glad we did because they were just as delicious as they were gorgeous! Soft, buttery, and full of flavor. I was truly impressed by the quality and the artistry. These cookies made such a special touch to our celebration, and I would recommend this baker to anyone looking for show-stopping sweets.

Everything I ordered was amazing. They had adorable Valentine’s Day treats. The chocolate strawberry cupcake was my favorite, the cake was SO soft and fluffy and the icing wasn’t too sweet and had a perfect strawberry flavor. Mini cinnamon roll was one of the best I’ve had in my life seriously. Pistachio toffee cookie was also so unique, loved the idea and flavor! The macaron was also the perfect texture but the flavor was kind of lacking. Brownie was fresh, but wouldn’t get that again. I also wish they had their full menu stocked earlier in the day, sometimes things are hiding in the back kitchen. You won’t be disappointed with anything you get here, this place is worth the forty minute drive for me.
