Super good authentic food. Fresh ingredients, great flavor, and the fresh fruit drinks are not to be overlooked!

On June 12, 2025, my wife and I decided to have lunch at Al Bawadi Niles. We were greeted with a coffee drink as a welcome gesture, which we greatly appreciated. We ordered lunch, and while the food was not particularly tasty, it was overpriced. When it was time to pay, the waitress asked me to swipe my credit card a second time because she said the first swipe did not go through. After a few days, the statement on my credit card showed that I was charged twice. I immediately called the restaurant and spoke with an employee who identified himself as Mahmood Al Badawi. He asked me to send him a screenshot of the statement that showed the double payment and a picture of my credit card. I did both, and he promised to look into it. After a few days without hearing from him, I contacted him again, and he said he had transferred the matter to his nephew, who would get in touch with me. I never heard from either of them. It is very egregious and outright robbery to steal money from customers. I eventually got reimbursed by my credit card company, but I must say this is pure theft by the restaurant owners. I think people should be very careful when dealing with this restaurant or, better yet, avoid it completely.

Very reliable and delicious middle eastern food. They are generous with portions and come out pretty fast.
The mixed grill meat was so tender. The seasoning was perfect and each taste was met with a gush of spiced and easy to chew. Even the meat was cooked well and not too grimy or dry.
Always a great time eating here, and nostalgic!

Passed this place a bunch of times and finally went in. It’s ALOT inside. Whoever designed the tile work is a mad genius. It’s everywhere. The waitstaff was wonderful and the uniforms are awesome. The food was great and priced fairly with Giant portions. We will be back.

Best food experience I have ever had in Chicago. The food is amazing and has a variety of Middle Eastern and Asian/Pakistani dishes. I highly recommend this restaurant to all local and external comers. Service is amazing.

The smell of the cleaning product they use is very strong, couldn't escape it throughout the meal. The food was okay, everything is on the dry side. The rice, the naan, the meat. Their yogurt drink is extremely sour and salty, unbearably sour. It might be authentic, but for a drink this unique, it'd be nice to have a heads up from the server.

The food, including Chicken Tikka Platter, Shawarma, Tawook Sandwich, and Mint Lemonade, was flavorful and well-prepared. The ambiance was lovely, though prices were slightly high. A great dining experience overall!

Our first time at this place exceeded all expectations! The service was incredibly friendly, and the staff went above and beyond to explain every detail about the food, which we were unfamiliar with. It was a great experience for trying something new, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking to introduce someone to this kind of cuisine. We also had the chance to celebrate a birthday, and they did an amazing job with a special birthday song, complete with a sparkler and dessert—such a fun touch! Highly recommend this spot for both first-timers and special occasions.

Parking: Very cool place to go to multiple birthday parties. There, even during the week, very friendly.

Below average food at above average prices. We drove half an hour, a complete waste.
