The Jopok Army Rice Cake was excellent. Tons of fat, fresh ddeokbokki and lots of thick cuts of spam and hot dog. The flavor was authentic, sweet and spicy- a lot of the ddeokbokki I’ve had state side is pretty bland.

The owner did not seem to be in a good mood. Don’t expect a lot of explanation of menu items. But if you know what you’re ordering, it’s pretty good!

Our first time eating here and it was very disappointing. If I could give 0 stars I would. The owner seems like he doesn’t want to be there and isn’t very helpful when answering questions. The chicken katsu was overcooked and hard to chew. It tasted a bit burnt. I wouldn’t recommend eating here. The food doesn’t taste fresh unfortunately.

I initially tried their dduk bokki (spicy rice cake) and was very disappointed. The ingredients were just swimming in a flavorless soupy broth.
Today I tried their kimbap and was again disappointed. The rice is hard and underseasoned and the fillings are sparse. Honestly, it tasted stale and nobody in my group could finish it.
Do not recommend this place 💔

Terrible service, while we ordered the food for the child, there’s no picture of A3 Jopok Ramen, the owner didn’t tell us the food is spicy. And when we ask for the exchange, his attitude is really bad. Won’t come here anymore!

The yeolmu naengmyeon was subpar, broth wasn’t flavorful enough and definitely not enough vinegar. Noodles were way too chewy for a naengmyeon (i like my noodles chewy but this was undercooked!)

The soondae - korean blood sausage was so dried out-i think it was old. The tteokbokki was not much better in taste; i’d 100% rather just buy the frozen meal kit ones. I was so excited to hear we got a Jopok in Chicago but I really wasted my money here. I’ll never be back.

I loved the tteokbokki. This is my second time coming here, and I had the one with fish cake. It was really well done. I also had the veggie kimbap on the side. I think it had the perfect taste of Korean street food. It was successful.

Jopok Ramen (A3) was okay. However, the digital menu is misleading. The menu makes it seem like A1 through A6 are $13.99. However, I found out Jopok Ramen (A3) was $15.99 after I checked the receipt. The price isn't listed anywhere.

This place used to be called manna restaurant - same owner and same people, just a different branding. This is one of the best places in northern suburbs and when it comes to traditional noodles (열무국수, 김치말이국수, etc.), it is second to none. I drove from downtown to here just to eat those. I always forget to take photos before I start eating because it’s that much great. Strongly recommend - hidden gem for sure.
