My Husband and I agree that there needs to be more restaurants like the Omega. We both grew up in the area, and felt quite not only nostalgic but at home while dining today. From the moment you walk in the door until you leave, you are surrounded by a soft ambient glow, dark wood paneling, beautiful hanging lamps above each table. Please do not get me started on their bakery items, bread so good you'd swear grandma was in there kitchen whipping it up by the batch load, a dessert/sweets case that could fulfill anyone's sweetest sweet tooth desires. I had to stop myself before I bought one of everything! My husband Had the Gyro Dinner and was in love with the homemade taziki/cucumber sauce, the meat was perfectly cut right off the spit, and homemade pita bread to top it off, plus it came with a very generous portion of house salad, and a bowl of soup. I was getting full just watching him. lol I tried the Grilled Chicken Breast Sandwich, it was amazing, it had loads of melted Swiss cheese and a beautifully grilled chicken breast topped with pineapple(my favorite) all on a fresh baked ciabata roll. it was fantastic! Our waitress was very lovely, super attentive and extremely patient with us, being our first time dining there. Overall I would recommend that you give the Omega a chance, it's like stepping back in time to a simpler, better time, when the food was made with love, and it shows. Thank you for the lovely experience, if we are ever up that way again, we will surely stop.

Visited Chicago from LA & haven’t been here in years so my brother & his wife took us here. Such a disappointment. Dirty place. Years ago it was clean & appetizing but these last few years it’s really fallen in cleanliness. The bathrooms are very dirty & stink! A can of fresh paint & a good wash down is required.

Years ago the food was delicious and it still is. Clean restaurant and good service. Families enjoying the meal and happy faces gathered. Thanks ?

I had great lunch with my friend in Omega. It was 10 years since I've been there last and I have to say nothing changed. 20% off for the seniors was a bonus.Aleya, the waitress was excellent. I love their bakery goods, especially Omega Cheesecake. I'm going back there soon.

I have been visiting this restaurant for more than 30 years. Some of the wonderful things that have not changed are the quick service and the large selection of Old Chicago style deli dishes, like the matzo ball soup, and the large variety of breakfast food. Burgers, sandwiches, and of course the Greek specialties. This old legendary neighborhood eatery (that's open 24/7) still has that Omega charm I remember. The things that where a bit disappointing on my last visit was the baked goods, some were not the freshest and seem to be on the shelf a little too long.
Aside from that, the nostalgia of my youth always comes back on the rare occasions when I visit this place. These kind of restaurants are becoming few and far between.

I have been coming to this restaurant for over 20 years and the other day I went in to eat and the man at the door who has been working there a long time told me I wasn’t allowed in there because I had some short shorts on. I feel very discriminated against, Perhaps because of the color of my company and not my clothing. I will not be coming here again.

I could have gone anywhere to eat for my Birthday but I had
chosen Omega..Bad call! I called to place a carry out order and they sounded like I was bothering them. Anyway, I started to place my order and after I ordered a dinner they always ask if I would like soup or salad and they didn't ask so I asked them about it and he said let me check-- he said I could have soup and then I asked what about salad and he said I can give you a side salad..OK I guess the dinners don't come with soup or salad any more.????? I cancelled my order because the meals I was going to order we wanted salads...sad sad.
I guess will go to Stevens!!
