SGD DUBU SO GONG DONG NILES.

My family and I recently moved to a place near H-mart in Niles location.
As SGD Dubu (so gong dong) can be found in many different locations in IL as it is a franchise restaurant, but! this SGD Dubu place serves the most well prepared and very delicious SGD Dubu soup the way it should taste.

I highly recommend this place and we will definitely visit again!!

This food court encourages cash payments when you order food. If you order food at this food court SGD, you have to pay for water. They don't even give you a cup of water. Where else can you find a restaurant that doesn't give you a cup of water? But if you pay with cash, the employee says, "Since you paid with cash, you'll get a free water." This is a really fun restaurant. It feels like they're trying to encourage you to pay with cash to evade taxes. I won't be eating here anymore, but if you do, make sure to bring water with you. You'll be discriminated against if you don't pay with cash.

I ordered Pork Bulgogi and Chicken Bulgogi for takeout. The portions were really big and the food tasted good, too. Great value for money. I will definitely order again.

Imagine paying 50$ for your food, and if you want to take it to go they charge you 50 cents for the box. Ridiculous.

Came across this market and was craving for Korean Short Ribs! The wait time didn’t take too long plus the benefit of waiting you can browse the market! Here is what we ordered.

Korean Short Ribs: A large portion! I was able to share this with another person since we ordered an appetizer as well. The short ribs was sweet and flavorful having a good amount of fat and meatiness!

Dumplings: Fried very well and the fixings inside had a little thicker clear noodles I believe but still flavorful!

Overall I’d certainly come back when I’m in the area again but might try their other locations!

We took out beef short rib and pork cutlet bento. The short rib was chewy and tender and the cultet was very crispy and juicy. Every dish came with bento was so good. Also, the owner was kind and friendly. We will definitely revisit next time!

This is my second time and while the food is decent the attitude of the manager or owner is a big turn off. I ordered 2 dishes to share with my son for dine in and the lady refused to give me a third disposable spoon after I purchased 3 to go containers ( yes you have to pay for take out container) as I know we won’t be able to finish it all. I asked for a third disposable spoon to use as a serving spoon as we’re sharing the food. This happened too with the first visit.While the cashier is kind and pleasant, her boss have very poor customer service . I don’t understand why a food business will begrudge its customer one extra disposable utensil , not all prefer to use chopsticks especially with their soups.

SGD made a mistake with this setup. The tables are few and challenging to get. People are passing by while you are eating, and it does not appeal whatsoever. I ordered the hot tea that they always serve at their restaurants and they did not have it. Only tea in a plastic bottle at room temperature. I do not recommend this place unless is to take the food to go.

Compared to the Tokyo Lunch Boxes and What A Dumpling, I would say this location of SGD Tofu and Bbq restaurant has great value. You get that tofu stew, a bowl of white rice, an egg to put in the tofu stew, and the 3 banchan dishes. Food quality was above par. Service was very friendly and fast. Since it’s in a food court, they have plenty of seating. Prices were fair and inexpensive.

This newly renovated stall at H Mart in Niles shows great deal of promise. Only tried tofu stew so far but it was flavorful. Given that its previous occupant wasn’t very good, it is already an improvement. So far so good.
