I’ve tried almost every spot outside of the chicken spot in the front and I have to say that what a dumpling is by far my favorite. Reminds me of my grandmas and mother’s food. Homemade dumplings and the broth tasted great. It’s a complete different texture compared to the frozen ones.
The Noona that worked there was great as well and I observed that all the customers that ordered from there were satisfied as well. When you see empty plates and bowls you know that’s a good sign.

I got the vegan dumplings, which were delicious and flavored with shiitakes, green onions, and a touch of ginger. The dipping sauce gave a tasty touch of umami. My online order was ready on time, and the gal that gave us our order was kind and friendly. I'll definitely be going back when I'm in the area!

It's the most delicious food I've had on a business trip to the US. The galbitang is more delicious than any galbitang restaurant in Korea. These days, there are no such large and delicious king dumplings even in Korea. I travel to many cities in the U.S. on business trips, but I always worry about food when I come to Chicago, and now I've finally found a good restaurant.

The employee that took my order was super nice. However, I guess I didn’t look carefully when I ordered. I got the triple dumpling soup that comes with no noodles. The triple dumpling soup comes with 3 traditional, 3 beef, and 3 kimchi. Dumplings were well made and did not taste like the frozen ones from a grocery store. In fact, the dumplings were very juicy and the fillings were perfectly cooked. It was very expensive for what I received. It’s about 3 for me, I would have liked to see at least a bowl of white rice accompany my meal. Since, the older woman was very kind. I’ll give this place a 4. Just remember, to order another dish if you do decide to get a dumpling soup.

From their steamed traditional and kimchi mandoo to meat jumbo dumplings and dumpling soups!I went there today and they have new menu Beef Short rib soup (Gal bi tang) and Stir fried spicy squid dish. We bought Beef short rib soup to go to try at home. It was delicious as we would eat it in LA Korean Town in Cali.We are going back for the Beef short rib soup and Fried dumplings Man doo) next week!

Stopped at H-mart today with 2 friends and we all ate here for lunch. Overall it was really good, I had the galbi-tang and my girlfriend had a spicy ramen with dumplings in it. Both were very good, mine came with rice and kimchi which was appreciated. I do wish the sliced egg shown in the example was included, though. I didn't get a lot of beef, either, mostly just bone. But the kimchi was excellent, probably the best I've had. The broth mixed with the rice at the end was delicious. Galbi-tang is great if you're not feeling well and it's full of vitamins. Everyone enjoyed their food. Saw someone get a whole order of dumplings and they looked incredible, too.
I have sampled various types of dumplings and galbitang (short rib soup) from a variety of restaurants in different states, and I've found that I particularly favor the dumplings and galbitang at What A Dumpling. The dumplings from this restaurant are the only ones I truly savor.Furthermore, I must commend the exceptional service and the kindness of the owner at What A Dumpling.
