Was around the Outlet mall and wanted some authentic Mexican, found this gem tucked away bout 9 min away , tried a super Huarache with cactus bits , the huarache was freshly made and the meat grilled to perfection . my daughter tried their huge Sope tasted fresh and meat seasoned well , wife had the caldo de res ! Try them out . (Not pictured a salsa bar )

I'm going to keep this short. I had the carne asada and the al pastor tacos. I'm very picky about these tacos because a lot of places either cannot season the meat properly or they have meat that is grisly and chewy. Both the carne asada and al pastor tacos I had were really good, best tacos I've had in a while. Seasoning was there for sure! I gave four stars only because I need to try more of their food, I will be back to try more and hopefully give them that missing fifth star!

I had high hopes based on other reviews. I'm from SoCal and know what good Mexican food is supposed to taste like. I SPENT $30 FOR ONLY 2 BURRITOS! I ordered a breakfast burrito with chorizo, and it had NO flavor. It was simply a wad of food in my mouth, very disappointing. The other burrito was a carne asada and the same thing. Meat was bland and SCARCE, very little substance, plenty of fillers. I might try one more time with their tacos and enchiladas, but at these prices... and first experience... it will be hard for me to justify it.

Put this place on your list! Excellent made from scratch food, served beautifully.food. Not a standard Mexican restaurant menu. In addition to great tacos, burritos, enchiladas, etc, El Coronel offers huaraches, gorditas, and very out of the ordinary quesadillas. Also, they offer huitlacoche, which is not easy to find. They have a wonderful salsa bar. We were welcomed warmly and enjoyed everything about our meal. Don't miss El Coronel.
