Riverfront Grill at Hilton Northbrook

Great place connected to the Hilton. This rest is the main reason I stay here. Very convenient and the food is pretty good too. Will and Abraham are great bartenders.

When it was Allgauer's, it was a great place to go. Now it's just a hotel restaurant and no longer a destination. Too bad.

worst service ever. the manager has no idea how to run a restaurant... we have been waiting an hour for bread and water!

Made a reservation online for mother's day brunch, only to be called on Saturday evening (7:30 pm) before mother's day that they weren't open at the time the reservation was made. I asked to speak to a manager to understand why they would allow me to make a reservation... No manager was on staff that night, I asked to speak to the hotel manager... no manager was at the hotel at that time (contrary to Hilton policy of always having a manager on staff). Algauers use to be a highly reputed brunch that my family would go to for special occasions. This new iteration seems to fall far short of that reputation.

Bad food and really Slowww service! There were few guests in the restaurant but it still took over two hours for dinner!

This place is old and the best part is I got food poisoning. Staff was rude and the bar was old dirty and the bartender was rude

What a shame. Have been going to this establishment for many years and I have never been disappointed until their Easter brunch buffet. It was terrible. I needed a steak knife to cut eggs Benedict. That should not be. Any money would have been too much for that quality of food. Never going back.

We have been to Allgauer’s so many times over the last two decades. Every time we went, we had an amazing experience; both food and service.
It is now called Riverfront Grill at Hilton North but we still wanted to go to their Easter buffet. We thought it would be the same as we were used to. WE WERE SO WRONG!!!
The quality Allgauers once had was completely gone. The only good thing I can say is the hard working wait staff who made sure we had everything we needed.
We will not go back and waste an $85 per person bill. We would rather go to Old Country Buffet.

The eggs were not done all the way (both in the buffet and the omelette). The carving station the meet was grey so it was overdone and lacked flavor. For $80 a person you would think the food would have been amazing and this was one of the most disappointing brunches in the area I have been to.

Gluten free meals and bread were offered which was a real plus. We all enjoyed. The chef made an excellent salmon dish.

Following the Algauer's Thanksgiving experience now the Riverfront Grill. Thanksgiving buffet offered large selections including oysters and shrimp on ice. Salad bar and desert bars were great. Carving station was delicious. Increaed price was expensive. Service was okay but probably not to my expectations with the price. Champagne included is very nice. I'd still go back.

We were here for Christmas brunch when it was under Allgauers. The food then was great for the price. Disappointed today as some of the items that were supposed to be hot were cold. Expected to have turkey carved directly only to have it sliced already and in a warmer.

June 25, 2024: I reserved a table for 8 for lunch and requested separate checks if possible when I reserved online. I was pleased to see the request was remembered and granted!
Between all of us we ordered 6 different meals and all were outstanding in flavor and presentation. Only praise, no problems or complaints!
