We had a delightful experience here. The ambiance is quiet and beautiful. The service is prompt and friendly. The food is delicious, and I'm particularly impressed by the creativity of the vegetarian friendly dishes. So nice to see something besides pasta primavera for a vegetarian entree! The cocktails are delicious and good sized. My husband said his salmon entree was fantastic. The presentation of the food is beautiful. And there is a nice selection of wine and beer. Prices are average for this scale of restaurant. We will be back again and again.

We had a delightful meal and experience here. It is so exciting to find an upscale -ish restaurant that has creative vegetarian options. The setting is beautiful, the service was great, the price is standard, the cocktails inventive and delicious. And my husband's seafood dish was excellent. What's not to like about this place? Will be back again and again and again.

Absolutely horrendous. We were the first table to sit inside. Two hours later - we left after receiving our overcooked and inedible entrees. Our server was doing the very best he could while being massively over sat. Manager - no where to be found. When my husband requested one he was told the manager had left for the day - a woman wearing crocs and no identification finally arrived and said she was from “the front desk”. The worst part of the entire experience - if there was a manager they left their staff without any support. Completely irresponsible and horrible business practices. I hope the staff can use this current opportunity where servers are in demand to find a better place to work.

Reserved an “outdoor” table only to find they did not have it (please update Open Table system). Half of the indoor restaurant was closed off forcing diners to be closer than necessary during COVID. Food was good but took FOREVER (literally 30+ mins for ice cream). Hostess could use a bit of customer service training.

While being a holiday, Mother's Day, the restaURANT WAS QUITE EMPTY AND STAFFING APPEARED LIGHT. tABLE SERVICE WAS SLOW. i CONTINUE TO LIKE THE RESTAURANT HOWEVER.

The shrimp dishes were both excellent as well as our soup and crab cakes. Our deserts were also very good. The service was top notch.

Lovely views, pleasant atmosphere and low noise level but we dine early. Service was very slow. Fortunately we were not in a hurry. My husband really enjoyed his entree but not the soup. I enjoyed my salad but my entree lacked in flavor and presentation.

For years, while my wife and I traveled from coast to coast, we were admonished that we should avoid dining at hotel restaurants because the food usually wasn't worthy of a review. Well, after 45 years of marriage and nine years of submitting restaurant reviews to TripAdvisor, I feel qualified to report that all hotel restaurants aren't to be avoided. For proof, make a dinner reservation at Allgauer's on the Riverfront in the Northbrook Hilton Hotel in Northbrook, Illinois. Located at 2855 Milwaukee Avenue in Chicago's North Shore suburb, Allgauer's has been a family operation since the 1940s and 1950s. In 1992, they joined the Hilton family. A visit to Allgauer's is a romantic experience, overlooking the garden, courtyard and Des Plaines River. We started with crispy deviled eggs, shrimp cocktail and Caesar salad with romaine hearts, parmesan cheese, seasoned croutons with home-made garlic anchovy dressing and chicken. Next time, I'll be sure to order the shrimp bisque. For an entree, my wife chose a center cut eight-ounce filet mignon with mushrooms, caramelized onions, carrots, mashed potatoes and roasted garlic demi. I was in the mood to favor our more fish/less meat philosophy and opted for Caesar salmon over Potato Crusted Halibut and Tequila-Lime Baked Walleye. It's hard to pass up salmon when I find it on a menu. This version came with Dijon crust, grilled romaine, roasted potato, green beans and garlic anchovy butter. Irresistible. Delicious. And very healthy. For dessert, we decided to splurge. Who cares about calories when you're having fun? We shared large portions of key lime pie with graham cracker crust and raspberry sauce and double dark chocolate mousse with Macadamia nut brittle and fresh berries. Like dining at the Ritz.

Came here for brunch with 9 adults and 3 children. Made reservations a week in advance. Asked at time of making reservation if they were still doing unlimited mimosa even though they didn't have buffet. They said yes. Arrived and were then told no to unlimited mimosas. Ordered and Waited 40 min for food. Food was cold and portions were dismal. Chicken and waffles had approximately 3 bites of actual chicken breast. Felt like they shared an entire chicken breast between the three orders of it. Most of it was just breading. Manager offered a discount but I won't be back until Covid is over and they are fully staffed again. This was incredibly disappointing.

Good Easter meal in a comfortable atmosphere. We'll dine there again.

The restaurant was very empty at this time of day for Easter at 4 pm. When we arrived we were told to sit in the lobby since they were changing the tables from brunch to dinner. When we sat down the waiter asked what we wanted to drink I said a Diet Coke with dinner. My husband order soup with his dinner which never came. The meals took a long time and finally when they were served the soup never appeared. They finally brought my drink when i asked for it not remembering what I had ordered. We decided to also order a dessert of Lemon meringue pie to spit. The brought the pie in which did not look like what we ordered and said it was on them since they forgot to bring the soup. The dessert tasted great but when we got the bill we were still billed for the soup and not the dessert so the dessert really was not on them.

We Made a late reservation for our Easter dinner the food was cold and the server was frustrated that we wanted our food to be satisfactory he did adjust to a nice mode because we kept apologizing however we also did the morning Brunch the bacon was not crispy and the pancakes were very tough and heavy. We had to ask for bread and butter to be brought to the table with our dinner. The water glasses were dirty I never usually complain they did remake our order and it was satisfactory however we were tired and took it back to our room I am a regular guest of the hotel and in my past experience the food was although this experience wasn’t the best
