The Baking Institute was a partnered vendor with our reception hall, and honestly, we didn’t expect it to go as well as it did. Our first meeting wasn’t great, and we were unsure about moving forward. Thankfully, they allowed us to come back for a second visit—and that visit completely blew us away with their incredible customer service. The baker took her time listening to our vision and thoughtfully sketched out a cake design that perfectly fit our theme. She also offered insightful suggestions that really helped bring our ideas to life. On the wedding day, the cake looked absolutely beautiful and tasted even better. We chose a white cake with a French custard dulce de leche filling, and we had guests who normally dislike sweets devour their slices! We can’t wait to enjoy our anniversary layer next year.

Worked with them for our wedding cake. I am gluten free but not many of my guest were, they suggested doing a GF topper and regular cake for the bottom two layers. They also suggested making the two types of cakes different so that the servers would have a visual distinction between GF and regular. I really appreciated them being able to accommodate my diet and also offer advice for my event. Of course the cake was beautifully decorated and absolutely delicious, our guests raved about it all night.

We appreciated that the tasting was quick, and that they were very thorough about what the reception venue would pay for, and what we had to cover. They were very knowledgeable about what cake options were best with the different fillings. There were lots of options to choose from, and our guests were very happy with the way the cake turned out. It tasted delicious! We highly recommend the Baking Institute if you are looking for a wedding cake venue.

The tasting was easy to set up and we were able to sample several different styles of cake, frosting, and fillings. They also worked with us to design all the beautiful details on the cake - even ensuring they had the right color purple to fit our theme colors. The cake was absolutely delicious and our guests enjoyed it.

We had our wedding on 9/7/2024 and I cannot tell you that I felt welcome when I went to the Baking Institute the last minute on 8/10/2024 for the cake tasting due to my tight schedule. They were able to take me, my mother, and my aunt! The tasting went fantastic! I knew exactly what me and my husband wanted and was part of the package from the Marriott Chicago O’hare! We were pretty simple but yet detailed of what we wanted our cake to turn out to be! It was exactly what we wanted and also added our first initial to our first names. I am extremely happy that they have listen to details and they were able to put in that order with 3 weeks prior to our wedding! They were quick and very sufficient with our needs and I truly can’t thank them enough for spending time even when it passed a little bit of our appointment time. We truly didn’t feel rushed at all! I forgot what his name is that we had for the tasting but we can’t thank him enough! The only one thing I would truly suggest is maybe do more than 30 minutes up to 45 for the appointment overall but as I have stated, we were not truly rushed! Thank you very much and I will come back and order for future occasions!

My husband and I got married in October of 2023 and the baking institute was offered to us through our venue, Marriott Burr Ridge.
My husband and I were extremely happy with the cake process! Upon tasting; you will be sent a form where you will choose frosting, cake flavor, and filling. I suggest mixing and matching to find your perfect fit! We ended up with Bavarian cream with half and half cake and raspberry filling. The tasting process was extremely smooth and staff was very helpful in choosing our design and flavors.
Staff is extremely communicative and willing to help any way possible. On our big day, we were taken aback by how beautiful it came out and many guest noted how delicious our cake was! I can’t say enough great things!!
Will update when we receive the cake but right now for the taste testing she was very rude. Treating the appointment like we were bothering her and wanted to rush us out.
