Like many, "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" brought me to Clary's. It was okay, but really nothing special. I had a turkey breast sandwich, largely because of them advertising fresh roasted turkey every day. Not great, not bad. We also had a Reuben, also okay but nothing I'd go out of my way to come back for. The highlight was definitely the vanilla coke, and if you stop in, I highly recommend one of their flavored sodas. I'll probably stop back there, as it's very conveniently located for anyone staying on or near Jones Street.

Nice location off the main drag of Historical district, so lots of local flavor and you can sit outside with the dogs!

This restaurant has been around since 1907 and is another piece of historic North brook IL. It is located on side streets but worth the walk for breakfast. It is similar to a diner so if you are looking for something more formal, I wouldn't recommend Clary's. The menu choices are endless; the staff is attentive; and the food is phenomenal.

We ate breakfast here and got the shrimp and grits, as well as Belgian waffles with fruit. So delicious!!! It was super busy but the staff was extremely quick. If you're looking for a quick bite to eat or relaxing lunch...this is it!!

Really good food. They also have gluten-free items. Everything is fresh. The sticky rolls are wonderful.? A must do but be prepared to stand in line. Moves fast. Order, be seated and wait to be served. Locally owned.

Good for quick bite to eat.Reasonable prices but nickel and dime for every item. Food was okay but nothing special.

Simple quick breakfast on the go. A good spot to go if you don't want the whole sit down breakfast place. Order at the counter sit and wait for them to bring it to you. Everything came out quick and hot. Apple cinnamon and Tomato avacado quiche were good. Croissant was very good and flakey.

Great little coffee shop. Near the train station with nice people working. Iced latte is top notch. Grabbed a donut too.If you're headed toward the Metra in Northbrook, definitely stop here.

We had a very delicious brunch! The waffle was fluffy & so tasty. The quiche was a hot with my family & so was the club sandwich!

I don't ride the Metra, but I came upon The Grind in a Google search for small business coffee and figured I'd give it a shot. The frozen coffee cubes are a nice touch. Iced coffee was great! Excellent way to start the day!

A MUST Stop when taking the Metra out of Northbrook!!! Delicious HOT Coffee, Hot Chocolate, Tea, or even Ice Coffee with "coffee ice cubes"....what a great idea of complete 20 ounces of coffee bliss. The Grind also offers some wonderful Pastries, Donuts, Bagels, and Fruit. All at the right price without paying those crazy prices at Starbucks around the corner. More importantly, the long time hard working owner, Charlie, could not be nicer, accommodating, and most appreciative of everyone of his customers....I have noticed this on every occasion I am in The Grind.

Wish they were open in the afternoon.

Connie and the group who work here are phenomenal. They serve up breakfast to hungry comuters in the morning rush hour, and the food is good and the drinks are hot. I recommend the hot apple cider with whipped cream, caramel and a cinnamon stick. Also the chocolate chip muffins are my Achilles heel. :)
