Our family have been going to Leonard's Bakery for as many years back as I can remember. All their items are fantastic even the day olds on the special rack where you can find good bargains. I am a mandel bread freak and have picking up no sugar added chocolate chip toasted mandel bread for years and now I pick up 15 pounds at a crack and bring it back with me to Arizona on every trip to Chicago. It freezes well and is my daily choice with coffee in the mornings. Thank you Leonards Bakery for making our life a little sweeter!

I used to live in NYC =I'm spoiled in terms of good bagel :( I don't have any ideas how this place score so high ? Bagels are better than offered in the grocery aisle but very far away from how REAL bagel should taste. Very bad idea to dye some items (including bagels) -what yellowish dough supposed to elevate the "home made factor, eggy feeling "? I hope its only curcumin not an artificial food color. Cookies very mediocre- biggest disappointment with Rugelach lacking texture not flaky at all, Best item- fruit coffee cake. Kaufman's in Skokie still number 1 and worth to drive 25 miles for superb bagels !!!!
