Cool super small bar with good tacos and they even can accommodate gluten free celiacs like me. Cool vibe and very intimate because of the small dark space and couches. The tacos were ok. The beer selection was not numerous but still good The staff were nice.

This place was AMAZING! Soon as we entered Kadir welcomed us and sat us. They had such a selective menu so we asked for recommendations and he did not stray us wrong! Their specialty drinks were so good and we had to try their tacos! We will be back soon!

Really wonderful drinks, food, and service. I happened to walk in during happy hour and was very happy that cocktails were all $10. Will be back

Everything we tried here was great! Had the Brussel sprouts, next door elote, mintymoras, and spicy melon. Can't wait to go back and try more food and cocktails. Love the ambiance of the bar

Wow! This lounge is cozy and romantic! Adjoins the taco place next door so has food. I tried a couple of shrimp tacos and a beer. The bartender said they tend to get busy around 8, but I could see myself stopping by for happy hour every once in a while.

We'd driven by this restaurant many times but had never had the occasion to try it out so, after trying to find a place that would be mutually-convenient for us and another couple, we chose the Next Door Bistro and made reservations for a Saturday PM visit. Parking behind the building, we entered the restaurant via a small entry lobby jam-packed with framed photos of the owner(s?) with local celebs and customers. We had 6:30pm reservations and found both the bar area and the main dining packed with diners but, after a very short wait, we were seated at a table near the large front window, given menus and given some time to review the evening's special selections. Our friends are non meat-eaters, so they ordered two mains - a vegetarian gnocchi special and a nice butternut squash ravioli dish, while I tried a pasta dish of cappelini with chunks of roasted eggplant and my wife chose the linguini with clams dish (preceded by a caesar salad which we'd split). We were given a serving of warm italian bread and EVOO to bide the time while we waited (and sipped on glasses of the white wine we'd ordered to accompany the meal). After a not-too-long wait, our mains arrived and they were all quite nicely-prepared and served in very generous portions. Everyone said that they'd enjoyed their meals, with the only complaint being that they perhaps had overdone it on the number of clams on the linguini (which she enjoyed the next day with a new serving of pasta). We finished with servings of chocolate cake and the house-made tiramisu, which was very creamy and delicious. Pricing overall was fair, with the pastas in the $20-$22 range, but I was a little disturbed with the prices for the wine (3X retail) and the desserts ($14 for a serving of tiramisu?). However, service was top-notch and friendly, so overall it was a good outing. We have a number of good Italian restaurants in the area, so we might not be in a rush to return, but based on the number of people who look to be regulars there, they seem to be very popular (and probably won't miss us if we don't return).

What what? There's a cute cocktail lounge in downtown Northbrook! Right next to Eataco, but serving its own menu of food and cocktails, Next Door lounge is a cozy hangout spot. I had the spicy Thai shrimp (yum), the corn burrata (burrata kind of hard, but overall a good tasting dish), the mushroom pie (it's kind of a pizza, I liked it, lots of leftovers heated up well the next day). My cocktail was pretty tasty, I had the smoky pineapple. It was a bit too sweet and not too smoky, but reasonable for a suburban cocktail. Loved the comfy armchairs, the seating arrangement was perfect for our small group. Will be back!

Lounge right next door to eat taco in downtown northbrook. So glad there's another bar to add to the nightlife in northbrook. Super friendly customer service. We stopped by on a Thursday night for date night and we enjoyed our time. The drinks were delicious and strong! Our favorite was the mango mint capirinha! Everything on their menu looked delicious. We can't wait to be back to try some of their other drinks and their pies!

There were six of us for dinner. One of the six enjoyed their meal. The waitress was delightful and we did not complain to her as it was not her fault. Needless to say, we will not return and just a heads up for others.

Great alternative to a typical bar. Has both indoor and outdoor seating, all comfortable and in a laid back setting with free board games to help the lounging experience.
