While I hadn't been to Prairie Grass Cafe in several months (as I live further north on the North Shore), I will now add the restaurant to list of favorites. Excellent service, great food, and an overall terrific experience. Our waiter gave smart recommendations and was flexible when we changed our To-Go order--twice! The deviled eggs are a must, and my Grilled Chicken Asian salad was the best of any of tried. My friend's tuna melt looked so delicious, I had to resist asking for a bite! I definitely won't take as long to return!
Prairie Grass is consistently excellent in its food quality and service. This time was no exception. The entree was superb; the soup (gazpacho) perfect. My friend and I shared a raspberry cream dessert. Again, it was excellent. Most restaurants have desserts that look delicious, but are usually disappointing. Prairie Grass always has wonderful desserts, worth the calories!
Service was excellent. Chicken in Caesar salad was a little dry! Mushroom soup was delicious. Overall a pleasant experience
Always love coming to Prairie Grass Cafe!! The food is always excellent and Jolanta is is delightful !!
Food is good and consistent. Waited 20 minutes from the time we sat to the time the server acknowledged us and took our drink order. Service continued to be mediocre. They ended up comping us the drinks and desserts.
Service apparently depends on whether you order alcohol or have appetizers to fatten the bill to make a bigger tip. My wife's food was so salt laden wanted to return but she wouldn't let me so went half eaten. My penne pasta was average at best. Waited for service and decided to get out without coffee or dessert
First time for my wife and I. This was for lunch. Deviled eggs appetizer and my wife's tuna very good. My omelet and potatoes were overcooked. Service was not good. Food arrived and we did not have any staff return until waiting for check. Entrees were priced on the high side and to have basically no wait staff support is very annoying. Probably will not return.
First time to this location, and I must say it was impressive. Attentive and friendly service was supported by great dishes. Will return and would highly recommend.
Service was very good. Atmosphere was good. It was about $5 more per entree than similar restaurants, but well worth it for the extra care given to the preparation of the food. The soup had a silkiness I had never experienced before. The salad was perfectly dressed. The entree was gorgeous and well prepared. However, my entree's taste was good, not excellent, and thus the 4 stars (my wife loved hers). The look and texture of the croquet was beautiful, but I thought broccoli was a less-than-ideal choice as a base/flavor; seemed too strong, and did not meld well with the chicken and pea puree. I would have preferred something subtler like cauliflower, and maybe some creaminess. Of course, this is just my opinion. Wine was good. The strawberry cream pie was divine. I grow my own fruit and make fruit pie fairly often, and I would love to know how they make that crust. Overall, very satisfied, and will be back. I wish I were rich.
Have visited 3 times now, easy to make reservation, prompt persistent good service, good food and wine choices, usually have garlic parker role appetizer, steak-chicken or white fish meal, (with steak you have purchase sides) and finish with coffee/desert muk-muk cake the best. Expect to spend about $250+. Sitting at booth our choice but beware sunny windows without shade. Plenty of free parking.

Jose was an amazing server, the service was amazing and food delicious! We had the wedge salad, whitefish, filet, blueberry pie, and chocolate pudding. The presentation was beautiful and flavors incredible. We'll be back!
Wonderful food & pleasant unrushed atmosphere. Outstanding waiter with helpful suggestions. Incredible brussel sprouts & burrata salad appetizers. The kitchen split the burrata salad for us to share without a special request! Lake Superior whitefish entree was delicious, especially the mashed potatoes (creamy & flavorful). The warm chocolate lava cake was a perfect ending! We had a nice steady pace to our meal.
Very pleasant with very good service. Ordered the special of the day, King Salmon burger that was excellent and loved the side salad that was included. Would order that again!
I give a 4 on Value in all my reviews these days because eating out is just too expensive. But I love Prarie Grass.
We love the people, food and service. Prairie Grass is our favorite place for lunch and dinner. We always feel welcome when we make reservations and when we arrive. The food is always fresh and well prepared. The staff is great, from reception to the table. Thanks for making this such a wonderful experience.
