I have been ordering from Szechwan kingdom for twenty some years. When I moved away to college, I'd always come back to Szechwan. When I moved downtown near Chinatown, I still told everyone that Szechwan was the best Chinese food. No one could make a better vegetable egg roll!! (My mouth waters just thinking about.) From 2005-2018 I would come back to Northbrook to visit my grandma and guess what.....we'd always order Szechwan when I was back in town. Yesterday when I came in to visit my grandma I called Szechwan like I always do, but it said the number was disconnected. I tried again thinking I dialed wrong, ( I actually have their # in my contacts) and the same message...disconnected. I thought "No! It can't be!" And went online to check their website and check here on Yelp. I'm not only in shock, but I got surprisingly upset. I need answers....what happened? At least tell me where the chef lives so I can get my egg roll fix!!!

My review is going to drop one star for every week that passes and I don't hear when this place is going to re-open. SUPER TASTY but it closed suddenly for "remodeling" and I haven't seen any updates. Wondering if it's opening again anytime soon.

We love their lunch buffet. We visit fairly often as our office is nearby. We tried to visit with a group a couple days before Thanksgiving and it was closed for remodeling. Would love to know when they plan to reopen.

We have been ordering in from this restaurant since we moved north about 21 yrs. ago. We probably order in about 1x a week. We were thrilled to discover a great Chinese restaurant that would deliver to Riverwoods. The food is great our favorites are the egg rolls, beef two delight, happy family, fried rice & the best egg foo young we've ever had. The deliver is always faster then they estimate. Funny thing is the owner who answers the phone never seems to remember me :) Calling now to order dinner tonight.

We have been coming here for years. Food and service is always very good. My only critique is there should be salt, pepper AND soy sauce on the table. While we were there, three other tables after us asked for salt and soy sauce.

So once a week I stay over night away from home for my current day job. Every week I eat at the same joint (MOD Pizza) and needed a break from it tonight..so I tried this Chinese restaurant for the first time and it will be the last. It was dirty, overpriced, tasteless below average food. So then I almost choked on a sharp coil from steel wool they used in the back to scrub dishes with. I immediately spit it out and brought it to the managers attention. He laughed it off like

Ordered food online earlier in the day for 5:15 delivery. At 5:30 we called and told them we ordered and they told us that the driver is on the way with our food. At 6PM we call back and they told us they never even received our order.... so they straight up lied to our face. Terrible customer service... avoid this place.

Received a delivery from this restaurant, bill had no details. I had ordered with a 10% coupon- found out that they did not apply the coupon. When I asked them to rerun the bill and send me an itemized receipt, they charged me double for delivery. Dishonest restaurant, how can you trust their food??

Great Food- LOUSY MATH- BEWARE!! The food has been good, until I asked for a detailed bill. They always give a bill written in Chinese with no totals. I was supposed to receive a 10% discount (they have coupons all over) and I found they did not give me a discount. When I asked them for a detailed bill, they said "next time". Then I asked them to run through the figures. They did not add up! No 10% discount. They said "they will give it to me next time". No, I said, I won't sign the ticket until they bring me a new one. They did, and then doubled the delivery charge!! Clearly they INTENDED to rip me off, and who knows how many other customers?? DEMAND a detailed bill and double check the figures!!
