Attentive service, both entrees were very good---gnocchi delicati and the eggplant parmesan. Charming atmosphere, large menu options.
We dine here regularly. Food and service is always good. This visit, I had an appetizer that was $22 and then charged $9 for a side of pasta. Come on! I can buy 9 boxes of pasta for $9!! I get making a profit but $30 for an appetizer portion of shrimp scampi - with no pasta included- is a bit crazy.
Had a reservation was seated quickly. Service was good, food is always amazing. Would recommend to anyone looking for Italian in the Oakbrook area.
Front desk needs some graciousness Waitstaff lackadaisical Once they got going they were good A good meal overall Kitchen with great attention to food allergies Very much appreciated
We have been eating at Antico Posto for more than 8 years. Their quality of dining still wows us! Food and service are excellent. We are often treated with special care when it's a special event or celebration night for us. They are our #1 Italian restaurant.
Love Antico Posto. Great meeting place that has excellent food. Our server was so polite and did not rush us at all as we were catching up and talking a bit. Eggplant parmesan was excellent and I love the bread and oil they serve when you first sit down. Thank you for a lovely evening
There are some very good dishes here (the gnocchi is fabulous; the spiced cranberry sangria is amazing). But some of their dishes really miss the mark. Their eggplant parm is one example. It's sliced so thin and over breaded and you can't even taste the eggplant. Yesterday I had one of their specials, the “lemon butter shrimp risotto”. It was terrible. Absolutely drowning in a solid inch of melted butter around the perimeter of the entire plate and just saturating the risotto. It was inedible. I'm not sure what the cooks were thinking when they served this dish. This is a place where it's safer to stick with items you have tried and liked before. Having said that, what is good here is very good.
Great experience always! Food & wine are always so so good! Excellent service & personable staff!
I've eaten at Antico Posto for years. Always an excellent experience. Every entre has been extremely well done. My favorite eatery of all time. I will return many more times.
The butternut squash ravioli is to die for! Absolutely delicious. My friend had the shrimp pasta and said it was fantastic.

A real gem. Food and service are always perfect. It's our spot to celebrate special occasions, but also great for a quick delicious bite
Great atmosphere and ambience. The food was very good, and a fair price. But the experience was disappointing because of the very slow service. The waitress was nice and very friendly but it took nearly 20 minutes for the her to take our drinks order and another 10 minutes for the drinks to arrive.
Food was outstanding! The service was the best we ever had; Victoria was absolutely perfect! Thanks Victoria for contributing to our 25th wedding anniversary and making it a wonderful evening. Also, Tom the manager thank you for all you've done in the past and your great sense of humor last night!
Noise level is low, so we can talk. They do not rush us out. My group loves this restaurant! The servers are very attentive. The food is tasty!
My family (party of 6) had our 2nd birthday dinner here last night. Our first experience about a year ago was fabulous. We all raved about the service and food. I even stated it was my favorite Italian restaurant in the suburbs and worth a special trip. I even purchased gift certificates as gifts. Our experience last night did not match that first visit. To start, we were placed in a booth that was just a little too tight to be comfortable (We were all bumping elbows when trying to eat). We had made a reservation, so it wasn’t as if they needed to squeeze us in last minute. It’s early fall but cool enough that we all had jackets. I found it very odd that there is no coat check or hooks to hang coats. My family all shoved theirs behind them in the booth, and I had mine laying on my lap. I thought it was fairly ridiculous that I’d have to be that uncomfortable for an entire meal that is not inexpensive, so I asked if there’s somewhere to hang my coat. Our server appeared genuinely surprised by my question and said there are some hooks in a back area near the kitchen. She was kind enough to bring it there for me, but I had to search for it after our meal. This is hospitality 101, folks and shouldn’t be that complicated to be comfortable. The food was also just ok. A few stand outs were the calamari and shrimp scampi appetizers, plus the flourless chocolate cake and cherry gelato were fabulous. However, every one of us agreed that our entrées were mediocre. My chicken piccata was very bland and dry. I should also mention the server seemed surprised when we asked for Parmesan cheese for our pasta, pretty standard stuff in an Italian restaurant and also an indication that the food did not have much flavor. We were never offered fresh ground pepper either, which to me is also standard in any establishment that understands upscale dining. The service was fine overall but nothing special. We did wait too long for our orders to be taken (abt 30 mins after our appetizers were delivered), but since it was a special occasion, we were more patient than we probably normally would be. No manager checked in on us like the first time we visited. Overall, we all agreed that if this had been our first visit, we would not return. Cost vs quality was not justifiable. All this being said, I will give it one more try (not for a special occasion though) based on my first experience that was outstanding. Every restaurant has an off night, I’m hoping my next visit will be closer to meeting our expectations.
