Wonder date night location. In the basement of the Drake (no clear signage to go downstairs). Very large space and delicious food & drinks. Outdoor patio space looks nice and will try in the summer months.
I am at the Drake several times a month on business travel. COA is an exceptional culinary experience where Tapas meets Tequila.
Food and service were amazing. The EDM playing a bit too loudly on the PA distracted from the overall experience for me
We went to celebrate thanksgiving and had the best time as well as outstanding food. there were 5 of us there and we all agreed that the food was so good!! We will definitely be coming back again and again!
The servers were nice, but one of the entrees came super early, like 15 minutes before the other four. And one of the appetizers didn't come out until after that first entree and with the other three entrees.
Initially seated in a side room that felt like eating in a hallway with no ambience whatsoever. The room was half full but sterile and echo with conversation and people with a few drinks in them. Accommodated to move to the bar area at a high top and the vibe and energy was much better. However service was great when available but told would have another drink when ordered our first and never saw our waiter again for this or for anyone to address our empty water glasses. By the time he returned to us we were long done with our food and beverages and ready to wrap up our meal. Needless to say we passed on his query about our interest in dessert.
Delicious food and drinks. Great service! I enjoyed my black bean burger and Sangria Roja. Juan provided exceptional service!
We had a few dishes and it was a hit or miss. Their short rib appetizer was bland. Their lobster empanadas had good texture and they were creamy. The mixed paella and patatas were the best in taste. It was a pretty large portion. For drinks I had a White Sangria and watermelon martini. My companion had a beer. Since I saw they had a toronja martini and a watermelon margarita, I asked if they could make a watermelon martini. They said they could, never mentioning it would be a $6 upcharge. Considering the martini and margarita are only a $1 difference in price, I thought the upcharge was excessive. Apparently they added tequila to it (which is something I would never expect/want in a martini). I noticed after I paid.
We had the hot tapas ... scallop (none of the sweetness. Literally tasted like water in solid form). The sauce was the saving grace. Also had grilled calamari. Not much flavor and no char like we are used to (the red pepper sauce helped). Also had the patatas brava. Sauce was really good. But what we really came to try was paella. We had the seafood one and thankfully THAT was on point!! Loads of flavor and delicious!!! Our server was excellent as well.
The Dia de los Muertos menu and drinks were outstanding! along with the decor, the servers, the ambiance. We had a great time

We were very impressed with the food quality, presentation and flavor. Service was great and ambience was a little casual but we will plan to be back.
My wife and I had a Chicken and carmalized onion tapa which was the size of 3 chicken nuggets & we had a scallop tapa which was 3 mini sea scallops - overall did not see great value to portions for the tapas pricing and would not say they are “shareable” size. The entree we got was a short rib and it had good flavor but for the price point of $38 expected more. Overall we thought COA was just OK.
There is no such thing as spanish cuisine! Everyone who visits Spain will find out. I I’ll add that there’s no mexican cuisine either. Hola !!!

Maybe we just ordered wrong, but the food was disappointing. Guacamole was bland, chips tasted stale, and the chile rellenos was kind of tough. My finance ordered his steak medium and it was definitely overcooked.
I want to give it another chance because the outdoor dining atmosphere looks so cozy. Unfortunately, we had to sit inside, and it was noisier than I thought it would be. Also, the host wasn’t very welcoming and sneered at us when we asked about any possibility of a table opening up outside. Not a great experience. The server was attentive, though.
