Nicky V’s Beef, Dogs, and Food Trucks FKA Doug’s Dogs

I wish I could give 0 stars. My friend and I went in to order for his family and myself. We ordered and the prices did not match what they had on their menu. What should have been maybe $54.00 the kid on the cashier said it was $67.00. We like no. When we looked at the screen we seen that the items we were going to get were higher. Then the workers were saying taxes. No we seen the taxes on the screen. As they were wanting to argue, my buddy and I said so long. Fix your menu.

Have been eating at this place for years, until today. Their prices on their menu screens are not accurate. The order charged was 12% higher than shown. Their excuse was they aren't the owner and don't update the menus.

Back when they were Doug's Dogs, I would always go there specifically for their Polish and fries. The used Bobak's Polish sausage. The fries were always hot and salty.

Since they changed hands years ago and changed their name to Nicky V's, they stopped selling Bobak's Polish. I stopped going.

I figured I would give Nicky V's another shot, so I went their for a Polish and fries. They ONLY sell Maxwell Street Polish. Seriously? Not everyone likes Maxwell Street Polish, even if they are a native Southside Chicagoan. I tried to give them a chance and they blew it. I will not try again.

Seems to have changed quite a bit with the name change. The cheese fries are still amazing. Wasn't blown away by the hot dog (have they changed the meat blend? Seems like it.). Found the beef to be decent but not mind-blowing.

The interior feels so skeevy now with the gaming machines.

Staff is friendly and the prices are good.

I ordered cheese fries and a cheeseburger. I will not be back. The hamburger wasn’t cooked. I couldn’t eat it. I prefer my fries overcooked especially if they pour the cheese all over them. The fries were very soft.

Great hot dog 🌭 with everything on it. The fries were hot and very good.

Great natural casting beef dogs with the snap. But 1 or if 3 times, they get my hot dog wrong. I order the one with snap, the Nicky V, and they give me the regular mushy hot dog. Not happy.

Best fries ever. Fries are real and fresh and crispy. This one of those true chicago style fast food resturants.

Decent food but a little pricey at almost 5 bucks a hot dog.

Decent hot dog stand fare with fresh cut fries.
It can be a little hit or miss, but it's usually pretty good.
