This #1 Chop Suey location has been my absolute favorite restaurant for the last 15 years. It was my family's go-to restaurant for big events and my birthday. I ordered my usual on Jan 7th, 2024 and it was incredible. I ordered my usual again March 17th, 2024 and it was really, really not great. I had heard/read that this location was under new management and saw the bad reviews but kept an open mind and am sad to say I am throwing away my menus. My normal garlic chicken is now super spicy and icky and the chicken lo mein doesn't even use the same noodles. Unless they go back to the old recipes, I will not be coming back. I don't generally write bad reviews but I think it's sad that the new management bought a perfect restaurant and turned it into trash. RIP #1 Chop Suey. You will really be missed.

I've been ordering here since early 2000s and now I drive out there from Chicago. Never Again! The 1st time I've ordered since new management was bad, the food was different. I tried it again last week, thinking I'd have a better experience.. No! The rice was dry and the Egg Foo Young was extremely salty.. I was Hot! For $25 ! The inside is different. There's a counter full of STUFF.. All kinds of new items stuck to the wall. The kitchen is open but not as lit as before and looked congested.. So yes Big Disappointment..

Since the under new management came about the food is not as good. To top it off , you don't get fortune cookies!

My son and his friends came here and told me the smoothies were amazing and that the person working there was “super nice to a bunch of kids” so thank you! And now he’s asking me to take for another smoothie and now I have to try them!!

New management with expanded menu options. Great new recipes. The fried rice(mixed) is amazing. Very fresh crab Rangoon and delicious home made sweet sour sauce.

You can tell the difference. New owners which brings change but unfortunately, not all change is good.

Ordered a pretty big order. The phone conversation went smooth to get the dishes placed. Seemed like all the items that ordered that were deep fried were over cooked (sweet sour chicken, egg rolls). We got the beef and tomato and the beef and broccoli and those were perfect. The bill came out higher than expected.

Since the sale of #1, it is inedible. All of our favorites are mot even recognizable. The new ownership changed all the recipes. The generals chicken is now saturated in sauce and soggy. The egg rolls are different. Just so disappointing. This has been our go to Chinese spot for over 20 years, but without Cindy, we will never be back

So incredibly disappointed in #1 Chop Suey. This was the only Chinese food in the area that I absolutely loved. Since they have been under new management, we gave it two tries and each time more disappointing than the next. It is so sad how I grew up eating at this restaurant and it has gone so downhill. Sad to say but we will never be back. ?

Pot stickers are tasty and portions are fair. Orders are prepared correctly and timely.

My family ordered over $70 worth of food which I thought was high for a family of 4 but if it's good that's OK. The problem was instead of egg rolls we got spring rolls and my 18$ large lo mein was only 2/3's full. I see they are under new management so maybe that's the issue . We never had had a problem there before. I suggest going to a different place for Chinese. There are plenty around . I for one will never be going back. they told my wife when she called that they don't have spring rolls, but if you look at the picture they are clearly spring rolls.egg rolls are not smooth .
