First time at Black Oak Tavern and I liked it. Awesome bartenders/servers. I ordered the smashburger with fries and it was good. I wish the meat had a bit more seasoning to it but it was good. I would definitely go back and try some other items on their menu.

We headed here for lunch after a travel baseball game in the area. Great food and service from start to finish. We had kids with us (ages 7-13) and they were entertained by the games the bar had on hand (Hungry Hungry Hippos & Sorry). Also, they had outlets conveniently located on the wall (plugs and phone adapters) which were a nice bonus. The bar itself was clean including the dining area and bathrooms. Fantastic experience from start to finish. The staff was welcoming and attentive, the atmosphere was warm and comfortable, and the food was absolutely delicious. Every dish was flavorful and well-prepared. I highly recommend this location NOT WESTLOOP.
