I used to like this place. They asked me to leave because I smell like cannabis well it’s legal ??♀️ and everybody There smelled like liquor so... I went down the street to The Whistle much better service and food

With heart ache I write this review as I am not one that focuses on the negative but rather choose to focus on the positive and in the good in people and if someone acts unkind and unprofessional I remind myself that I don't know what they are going thru and I am sorry for their hurt and pain.
My intention with this review is to provide coaching and awareness that we are all humans and deserve equal respect regardless of our skin tone and ethnicity. Specially as a business owner, as your establishment's doors are open to everyone.
As a Hispanic latina woman, I have experienced discrimination and I am very familiar and able to identify it. If you have ever experienced discrimination, you know exactly what it feels like. My experience while visiting this establishment this weekwnd was 100% discrimination against Latinos and Hispanics.
While visiting this establishment my daughter walked in with an outside drink, 32 oz ice coffee, the staff did not say anything to her/us, the rest of our party (7 guests) ordered $100.00 worth of drinks, which we were enjoying while patiently waiting to be seated. After 30 minutes of waiting to be seated, a staff member, who introduced herself as the establishment's owner, approaches my daughter in an intimidating loud tone and tells her literally to her face that she must drink her drink now as no outside drinks are allowed. My daughter acknowledges her comment and was drinking her drink as quickly as humanly possible, when she is shortly approached once again by the establishment owner demanding her to drink her drink now. The establishment owner's demanding tone, demeanor and body language resembled anger and frustration. I introduced myself to her, questioned the outside drink policy, and congratulated her on her business establishment while extending my hand to her, in which she refused to shake my hand and said "do you want the table or not".
I am disappointed of this establishment owner's values, lack of customer service, professionalism, and people skills. As such, I choose not to give my business to Deja Brew Bar & Grill.

The food was okay. It’s “upscale” bar food. I was excited to try the buffalo shrimp…they were underwhelming, along with the truffle fries. I had a main course, but I don’t remember what it was. You have 2 hours to sit and chat before they tell you they need the seating for others.
food was amazing! and bussers/bartenders did great/made great drinks but the service…was something else. our server was lauren. i’ve never experienced service like this. i was with my boyfriend and we both pride ourselves on tipping well as we’re both servers/bartenders. but this is the first time we haven’t gave someone 20% or more. our waitress had the entire patio section and prioritized service to every table except ours. she came up to take our food and drink order first…2 waters, 2 beers, and then our food. the beers were dropped off by runner, no waters ever came, and the food by a expo. she never checked on our table to see how the food was even after she took our empty beer glasses and didn’t even ask if we wanted another drink! the busser only noticed us because of us being almost done with our food and asked if we needed anything and then we spoke up about getting a second round, our waters, and boxes, AND THEN she came over so we could order another round. it was just ridiculous, i understand being busy but she wasn’t, she simply was prioritizing others over us for whatever reason it was. we’ve come here before and haven’t experienced this ever!

My boyfriend and I have been coming here for their "intellectual property" aka their espresso martini for a long time as we believe they're the best in Chicago and we even told family and friends about their espresso martini. However today we were told we cannot be sold anything because we were "stumbling" which is false as we were just asking if seating was available at the bar. Breaks my heart to state that we'll never come back again because we really do love this place to be treated this way. We also cannot help to wonder if race has anything to do with this situation as we were the only Latinos in the place.
Great place to enjoy drinks and food with friends. Cute outdoor patio.

Stopped in this place today for brunch. When I got inside it was a family waiting to be seated accompanied with two young ladies who worked here. One girl (server) walked off to seat the already waiting family. I walked up and the second girl (host) instantly walks off. Never once greeted me so I then took it upon myself to sit at the bar. The server was pretty nice, he explained the popular drinks to me and also refilled my water without me asking. No food was ordered, I finished my drink and left. I've been wanting to come here for a while but it's very likely I won't be back

I have been coming here for a few years now, and it's never a dull moment. One of my favorite things is their vast selection of craft beers! The burgers and wings are delicious and go great with the sweet potato fries! The service is pretty good as well, considering how busy they always get. Can't wait to go back!
