It was a very positive experience beginning with the classic gin martini I ordered. Our server arrived with a chilled glass, a frosty shaker, and an olive and a lemon twist, as I requested. He proceeded to shake and pour, let it rest for a moment and then pour again. Ahhh...what a delicious beginning to a delicious meal with friends. I did not expect that kind of bar service at this moderately priced family-type restaurant. Very surprisingly enjoyable!
The restaurant is very accommodating. I wanted something for lunch that wasn't on the menu. The chef prepared it for me. There's options for gluten free and vegetarian diets. On the down side. I am very sensitive to smells. We came in shortly after they opened. There was a chemical or cleaning smell which I found unpleasant. Also, the music was really too loud for our group of seniors. Still a 4.5 star experience.
I was incredibly disappointed. I had not been to Palermos in years and wanted to give it another try. I had the New York strip steak. It was done perfectly medium. However, it was topped with sautéed canned mushrooms alongside unseasoned sliced potatoes and semi-cooked unseasoned broccoli.
