Park Bistro at Kickapoo State Park

Arrived at our campsite after driving up from Terre Haute. Realizing I hadn’t eaten all day and needing ice, we went looking for the concession stand. Woo Hoo there’s a restaurant here! Julie and Lily are very helpful in catering to o our needs. Two bags of ice and four quesadillas, we are back to our campsite as happy campers!!

What a lovely unique experience! I am a full-time RVer and have been for over 30 years and I have never seen a restaurant like this in a state park. You can sit under an umbrella with a lovely view of a lake while sipping a margarita and eating delicious food. I am a vegetarian and I ordered the cheese sticks and the bruschetta and I’ve got to tell you the bruschetta is a delight! The bread is a little bit crispy a little bit Chewy with very fresh tomatoes, olive oil, and delicious balsamic vinegar. I would come back to this park just for this restaurant alone.

This place has the best vacay vibes. The attention to detail is so appreciated - coconut shavings on the rim of the piña colada, beautiful plants and flower baskets, a little green olive on the toothpick of the cheeseburger, praline crunch on the chocolate sundae - it’s just - the best ✨ Can’t wait to go back for more lemonade. The sun was golden, the music was great, and this is everything we wanted after the 8.5 mile mountain biking loop we did. Love it here so much.

Lady at counter was rude. Said she gave us extra food because we’re broke teenagers who are hungry. Also said we had free refills, then got on to us for getting a refill. We had two cups and one was refilled, when the second one was going to be refilled she said “Yeah but this is the last one” with a rude tone. Environment was nice, food was decent. Did not feel welcomed though, felt like a bother. -Me and 2 others.

I've taken my son the past three years. Every year we bring more people and we have a blast even when the water is low! For the price and convenience it's perfect. The bus drivers are always great and checking in and out is a breeze. One year I left my driver's license and they called to make sure I did get stuck out on the trail somewhere. and mailed it to me the next day! And this year the bus driver waited for our whole group to arrive despite the bus being full and went back to the parking lot to shut our car door for us that we noticed was open on the way to the river start! I seriously love going and will come back every year!
