Got the 3 meat plate and went with the pulled pork, brisket and smoked sausage. I loved all 3. Mac n cheese was solid as well, very thick and creamy! I preferred the spicy BBQ sauce over the regular. Would definitely return here. A lot of other things on the menu sounded good.

This place is DEFINITELY worth a trip. (Yes, Iām a fatty š ) The brisket and mac & cheese were the only things I didnāt like, but literally everything else made up for it. We went TWICE in a two-week span, during a snowstorm, which honestly turned out to be a great idea because it let us try almost everything. Highlights: ā¢ Lamb chops ā AMAZING. Smokey, super tender, and even better with a little sauce for extra kick š ā¢ Oxtails ā Unmatched flavor and tenderness. Huge softball-sized pieces like the ones I posted, with only about 5% fat. Absolute must-have. ā¢ Candied yams š ā Really good, definitely grab them. ā¢ Oxtail Philly ā PACKED with oxtail meatā¦ be warned, this will put you to sleep š ā¢ Sausages ā Both are good, but the jalapeƱo & cheese sausage is the best one. ā¢ Rio Roll (pizza-looking thing) ā MUST HAVE. No skipping this. ā¢ Loaded baked potato with brisket ā Smash it down and mix everything so itās all edible. Another must-try. ā¢ Desserts ā Banana pudding, caramel cheesecake, and red velvet cheesecake are all š„ ā¢ Mini tacos (new item) ā Super tender meat with a nice smokey flavor. The best BBQ youāll find in the Chicagoland area. The owner Keith is an incredibly nice guy who clearly knows good food. Canāt recommend this spot and these people enough.
The only down side is you canāt get it everyday! Keep the brisket egg rolls, Texas Twinkies and beef ribs around!!!

Cousin Vinnyās didn't disappoint! The rib tips, wings, mac & cheese, and baked beans were all delicious. They even let us sample free pork tacos, one was al pastor, but I didn't catch the name of the other. We also bought dessert: banana pudding and caramel cake. Both were delicious. I first visited Hellās BBQ a few years ago when they initially opened, and at that time, I wasnāt impressed. However, I always try to give new businesses graceāespecially in areas where good barbecue options are limitedāso I decided to give them time to work out the kinks.
Fast-forward a few years, and I returned today (Sunday). They close at 3:00 PM, and we arrived around 2:00 PM. I was glad to see they still had their full menu available so close to closing time.
We ordered rib tips, chicken tips, a brisket sandwich, and Mac and cheese. It was about a 10 min wait and at the proper temperature, which I really appreciated. The food itself was solid and a noticeable improvement from my first visit, enough to say I was genuinely pleased with this return.
The one area that still needs work is customer service. While the gentleman I assume is the chef came out to chop the meats, the overall energy from the front staff felt low. The cashiers/prep staff didnāt seem happy to be there, and that lack of warmth affected the vibe of the place. A little more enthusiasm and engagement would go a long way in elevating the overall experience.
That said, the food delivered this time around, and Iām glad I gave Hellās BBQ another chance. With improved customer service, this spot could easily earn a higher rating on future visits.
