I have a wonderful experience every time I come here. Mama Vesuvio is a Palos Heights institution. The food, service, and atmosphere are all first class.

What happened? The food was boring, flat, not much flavor and you can tell it wasn't made with love! You can always tell by the taste when something is made with love and passion.
There was none of that! Stuffed shells lacking flavor. Flat. Missing some flavor in spice, maybe oregano or basil. But it sure needed something.
Fettuccine Alfredo- easy one right? Nope. It was so flat and not worth eating. I'm sorry I have to be honest.
Having had MV's for years and a group of us went for a bday celebration and this is what we had. Very dissatisfied and disappointed! Not sure i wanna come back now or give benefit of doubt and give it a chance. So sad!

This is the best chicken marsala I've ever had from a restaurant! Extremely flavorful and the sauce is full of mushrooms. It's also such a plus that it's served over pasta. Really, REALLY good!

We ended up being seated in a booth in the bar. Several TVs going. Kind of noisy but we were able to hear each other talk.

My daughter loved her chicken parmigiana. I loved the homemade Italian dressing on my salad. Marinara sauce on my ravioli was flavorful. My only complaint is the decor. It's outdated and dingy. Needs to be modernized and updated.

Took friends there for dinner. Hostess managed to spill an Iced tea, then came to clean it up with a rag moving the wet mess all over the table now. Doing so caused the spill of another iced tea onto the friend I brought to the restaurant for dinner. During the course of the remaining dinner, I suggested to our server (her first day on the job) one dessert on the house we could split to compensate for the mess all over the table and the one guy wearing the sticky iced tea during the dinner.
The hostess was gone the rest of the evening till we were walking out the door. No dessert to ease the mess. Way to young of people working who have no idea how to handle situations such as this.
No one comes around to check on the service and the result is a very unhappy customer
Oh well i guess......

We had our mom's funeral luncheon here a few months ago. They did a great job. The food was delicious & wait staff exceptional. This was a nice end to a difficult day. I highly recommend.

We were there last Friday night for the Vito Zatto show. That was good . The food was awful ! I had the Chicken Vesuvio . The portion was small and tasteless. My wife had an individual pizza that also lacked flavor. Did I mention it took over an hour to get our food . The waitress offered a complimentary drink because of the long wait. The Drinks weren’t good. There was nothing positive about this dining experience. I suggest you call Gordon Ramsey and have an intervention. This place really sucks ! Joe Faculak

I have never had a disappointing dining experience at Mama Versuvio. The cuisine is exceptionally flavorful and prepared to order. The staff, including the bartenders, are courteous and consistently eager to assist with any needs. It is evident that this establishment is a long-standing, family-owned and operated business.
