Walk in greeted by a good group of guys. Got lamb necks out of curiosity Holy moly this meat melts off of the bone. Rice is flavored to heaven and beyond. Every sauce hits out the park. I be back again.

I randomly stumbled upon this place when I was perusing Google Maps and looking for libraries and restaurants to explore in the Palos Hills and Chicago Ridge areas. There are no frills with this place. Although their website has a menu, the actual restaurant does not. When we walked in on a Saturday evening around 4:30 pm, the gentleman behind the counter gave us a quick run-down of what they were offering for the day. We had the lamb shank, kebab, and lamb skewers. All of the meats came with a side of rice with green beans. There are about four small tables with a few seats. It looks like they emphasize more on take-out and catering orders. So with our young toddlers, it was more ideal to order take-out. We waited approximately 20 minutes for our food and in the meantime, we also checked out the Palestinian bakery next door which had fresh bags of pita bread for just $3. The food was wonderful, especially the lamb shank. It was incredibly tender, flavorful, and juicy. We cannot wait to return and try whatever else they would have to offer.

I’m Palestinian and I’ve been craving stuffed lamb neck for a while. My mom used to make the best stuffed lamb neck for Eid. I never had it since she passed, then I was told about Old School in Illinois.. My partner and I planned our trip from DC to Chicago only to try Old School’s stuffed neck.. long story short, it gave me tears. It’s PERFECT! The taste, the generous portion, and the warm welcoming of the owner, all make you feel like home. I wish I could give this place 100 stars.

Really good shawerma, but the place is not so, may be better for takeout and delivery.Updated overall rating because of the proactive response from the place, the food was really good and my only concern was that it’s not good for dine in experience, and they acknowledged that. Good follow up.

WOW WOW we just ordered a tray of mashawie (grilled meat platter)and believe me we have tried almost every restaurant in the area and hands down this takes 1st place,meat was perfectly seasoned,cooked ,rice was also delicious,new favorite place,also tried there shawarma wrap to die for! Definitely must try!!
