This place is in the location of the former Dixie Kitchen on Torrence Ave., North of the I-80/94. We arrived just after 5pm, when the place was sparsely populated. Outrigger Steak & Seafood has great ratings from my family's past visits. This was my first time here, so I reserved judgement. The decor in the place is eclectic. Parts edged toward playful (fake fish, dock flags, a bridge over a pond, murals, and netting). Then there was the reserved seating area with white table cloths and airy fabric drapery, modern paint pour art that resembled water mounted over framing, and hanging blown glass light covers. The latter should have been the setting for the whole place. I need the whole place to speak of the level of the food and service they provide. So, about the food.... It was of good class. Fresh garlic parmesan bread was served warm and toasted before the meal. There is an offering of 4 cuts of steak, tasty seafood offerings, hefty portions, complementary sides, even well priced weekly specials. After eating their fill, everyone left with a container enough for a second meal. Our server was Ana. She was pleasant and attentive. She was unbothered by additional requests for items, like condiments, napkins, refills. She checked on us frequently. Everything we needed was provided with a smile. We were informed that if we stayed long enough a live band would be playing tonight (Friday and Saturday). (There's a live DJ on Sunday.) The band was setting and warming up as we left, so we missed the show. The music prior to the band was Motown jams over the sound system. Our party enjoyed and sang along with most of the songs. Last but not least...bathrooms. Yes, my friend bathrooms. They tell you even more about the care of the place. The bathroom was clean. There was one soap dispenser for 3 basins. The smell of the septic/sewage left much to be desired. I know this happens in old buildings, but it needs attention. Some updated lighting and color could provide a lift in this very necessary room. Overall, I'd visit again. I'd even tell friends about it.

Overpriced and just okay food. Too loud music you can't have a conversation. My waitress was very sweet even when she told me the lamb chops and crab legs combo was going to be $169.00. Best part ever was the hand written price on the drink menu. Next time I am going to bring a pen and write in my own price.

The food was delicious and the service was great. Hassan (our waiter) provided great service. There was an issue with our tab that was cleared up quickly. The entertainment was everything (The Family Reunion Band).

This is my second time visiting this establishment and I'm giving 3 stars (I almost have 2 stars) because1. they refuse to split checks. It's a headache especially with a group of 20 people. They already add gratuity for 2 or more people... which is pretty much every table so why not split the checks? This is real inconvenient especially in 2022 since most people don't walk around with cash.2. And speaking of credit/ debit cards they won't let you use credit card unless spending $20 or more. The first time I went we sat at the bar and a guy wanted a beer and walked out cuz he wasn't going to drink $20 worth of beers.Businesses need to be more accommodating to give patrons a good experience.3. My drink was horrible. It was so strong that I literally had to add a half a glass of water to it. That was the first time I went. I can't remember the drink but the bartender, who appeared to be a substance abuser or maybe in recovery, was really trying hard and she was super friendly but that drink was NOT it.I'm giving 3 stars because even with all of that it's a nice, clean, spot to grab a bite in the south suburbs, the food is excellent and the live band on Friday nights is always entertaining... at least they were on the 2 Friday's that I visited.

Coming in there were only four other people in the restaurant but the hostess told us to wait. The five of us stood there literally holding my 87 year old father up. My brother asked for a table that was close to the door and she was kind of rude. I grabbed a chair from the bar so my Dad wouldn't have to continue to stand. The food was pricey the server was pleasant and attentive. Everyone enjoyed their meals however for the kind of money we spent I expect to be greeted happily, even if we didn't spend a lot we should be greeted kindly. I don't think I'd return because I really didn't feel welcome.Parking: Plenty of parking

Service was horrible and slow.. band was the bomb and atmosphere decent.. but the food took so long one of the guests had to leave, the owners said the money for dinners would come out of waitress check, that's bogus it was not her fault, owners were rude and abrasive.. don't even speak English.. go figure !!we argued for a hour but they insisted on blaming her !! I smelled discrimination!!!

Printed a Father's Day Menu and GOUGED the customers by 25%. We have been there several times this year with good food and service-good but not great. We had pasta, surf and turf and fisherman's platter-the bill was $244 before taxes and NO alcohol. We will NEVER eat here again. Shame on them for gouging the Father's Day crowd!!!!

I will never step foot in this place every again. The food was horrible and so was the service. Complaints go unheard and never taken care of!!! Don't ask for a manager bcuz they will lie and say they are not there because they don't want to deal with the problem. I went here with a party of four and our bill went over $250. The shrimp was raw, the steak was tough and the catfish was bland and cold. We had Steak bites, Bill cocktail, stuff flounder , catfish and shrimp and the porterhouse steak meal. My brother had to go to the bathroom to throw up ten minutes into the meal. When complained to the server she never offered another meal or take it off the bill. I called the restaurant a few days later to complain and they said I need to speak to the owners. After speaking to the wife Virginia about the problem she said she will talk to her husband and call me back. It took a week before I was able to catch up with her husband the owner. I explained the situation to him and he said he can't give my money back bcuz it is too late but offered to send me $100 by check. After giving him the address to send it to. Two weeks went pass and no check. When I called back to ask why it is taking this long all he could say was they mailed it. I have called back and talk to mangers that are aware of my situation and all they can say they will tell the owner to call me back. Looks like I will never get the check.

Went to outriggers and the food was amazing. The server was great. We were seated right away. The food was fresh and hot. I will definitely be back again.

Came in one night just to check it out after getting off work. Barely found the place because it's hidden so far in the back of a old strip mall I think? Anyway I came inside and waited for like 15 FULL minutes for the host to come but no one ever came so I just sat at the bar. When I sat down I asked for a shot of tequila, had to wait about 5 mins for that n the bar wasn't even busy. The really short bartender/manager kept going in and out the kitchen and constantly stopping to be on her phone n when I would call her to get her attention she would get an attitude as if I was bothering her. I finally said I'm done with the terrible service n wanted my bill and she tried to charge me for 2 double shots of tequila for around $55. I told her that wasn't what I had n she kept saying that it was trying to argue with me. Even the guy next to me was sayin that I only had 1 regular shot because he was there before me and she tried arguing with him too. So I just left without paying. Never again, don't ever try coming here, you'll get a better experience behind a Wendy's.

Truly enjoyed this restaurant! Although service wasn't necessarily the fastest, it was certainly busy and the server was several tables, of which ours and another were fairly large (10+ guests). The food was delicious... enjoyed the crab cakes and the Cajun Seafood Alfredo. The band was just getting set up as we were checking out, but I imagine they were great just based on the warmup session.
