$40 for two toasts and two drinks is absolutely insane. Drinks were bitter as hell too even though they were supposed to have maple syrup as a sweetener? I specifically wanted sourdough bread too and got something else. I’m not a wasteful person, so I didn’t bother asking for it to get remade. Looks like I’m not the only one who’s getting their order messed up, according to other reviews.

I just stumbled upon this jewel of a Cafe while getting Greek donuts next door. Strange Brew has an extensive menu and friendly baristas to boot. The hot latte that I ordered was on point and required not extra sweetener. I have found my new coffee spot.

I used to come here for many years and always enjoyed spending time either alone or with family and friends. For a long time, the atmosphere felt welcoming, but about 2.5 years ago things started to change. The staff became less friendly, sometimes even rude, and I often felt as if I was an inconvenience rather than a valued guest. They began making frequent mistakes with my orders, and instead of enjoying my breakfast, I would have to spend time trying to fix the problems.
The baristas also seem to change often, and with each new team, the service has become more indifferent. Sandwich portions have noticeably shrunk, yet the prices have gone up by a couple of dollars. I even have photos comparing how they looked a few years ago versus now. On several occasions when I ordered coffee to go, I ended up waiting for about 30 minutes, only to realize my order had simply been forgotten. Unfortunately, the baristas no longer apologize or try to make up for their mistakes, which leaves a very negative impression.
After so many years of loyalty, I think I won’t be coming back anymore, even though this used to be my favorite spot in the neighborhood.

This is the best coffee shop that I visit in the Palos area. I order Lavender coffee and avocado sandwich and it was delicious. Definitely recommend this place. If you wanna sit and relax and of course, enjoy the coffeewith a little snack.
