I always like to eat at locally owned businesses over a franchise, so I keep giving Tres Compadres a shot a few times a year.Their strengths: quick to be seated and chips/salsa and drinks are quick to the table. You don’t have to wait for the order to be taken or for the food to be served. I’ve always found the food to be served hot to the table. The staff is also very friendly. The negatives: The restaurant desperately needs a makeover to bring some real atmosphere to the dates and dingy space. The food: served quickly and served hot but I’ve not had a single dish that had much flavor. Everything that I have tried is pretty bland. I’m used to good Mexican spices and flavor especially in their sauces. There’s just nothing special about their flavoring here. Even their salsa tasted more like puréed tomato soup on my last visit…no diced tomatoes, onions or anything of texture. With the service they have, this place could be incredible but for me it is really lacking excitement in atmosphere and especially lacking food flavors that make you want to visit frequently. I go Once or twice or year at best just to see if they’ve changed anything. I like the people and really want them to be a success for them and for my town. I can’t say I recommend any dish, but the Margaritas are usually a good pour!!!

Fantastic food, great for lunch or dinner! My wife and I's favorite place in town, great staff, quick service, and good times. Can't get enough of the chips and salsa, the white cheese dip is always a must!Kid-friendliness: They have a great kids menu as well. Chicken strips, fries, and an awesome cheeseburger!
