Stopped in on our way to Chicago. The wife had a pulled pork sandwich with green beans. I had a smoked turkey sandwich with fried okra. I guess I should not have ordered turkey at a place called The Humble Hog. The turkey was dry, very dry. So dry that I don't think it should have been served. The pulled pork sandwich is probably the best I've ever had. The pork and sauce were absolutely amazing... thrown on the bun it's served on... everything together just melts in your mouth. Pretty big sandwich with a good size box of shoestring fries.... 100% worth the cost and the long empty drive to get there (depending on which route you take lol).
First tine going to Paxton for dinner (we always go to Gibson City, Mahomet, or Champaign when we're in IL) and of the places on Trip Advisor, we decided to give Humble Hog a try. My companion is originally from TX and is always disappointed that no oe in the Midwest does fried okra as a side. Seeing okra on the menu made her do a happy dance.
