First time trying this restaurant. The food was very good. Burnt ends, pulled pork, coleslaw and fries. Generous portions. You order at a counter and your meal is brought to you then you clear the table when you are done. Some items are ala carte and it can get a little cashy. In my opinion, the cost should reflect the fact that aside from bringing your food to you, you do everything else. No drink refills as everything is bottle or can. As I said, the food is very good and there are several bbq sauce options available at your table. I would dine here again.

Which one is 4oz and which is the 16oz? One cost $8 and the other cost $28. And the young lady on the phone couldn’t understand what the problem is. Save your money, get the 4oz. As for me, the last time I spend $87 here.

Hands down the best BBQ we’ve had in the Peoria area. Brussel sprouts are unbelievably good as well.
Brisket chili cheese fries with jalapenos I'm stuffed

Delicious! I had the Austin patty melt and it was great. Prompt, friendly service and comfortable dining space inside and outside. I look forward to trying more of their menu.

Slow Hand’s BBQ Joint is definitely one of the top BBQ spots in the Peoria area. From the moment you walk in, the smoky aroma lets you know you’re in for something special. The food consistently comes out hot and fresh, and the quality speaks for itself.
The brisket is a true standout – extremely tender with a beautiful smoke ring that shows it’s been done right. Every bite is packed with rich, smoky flavor and just the right amount of seasoning. Whether you’re going for ribs, pulled pork, or sausage, the meats are always juicy and flavorful.
The sides complement the BBQ perfectly, and the service is friendly and fast. If you’re looking for authentic, high-quality barbecue in Central Illinois, Slow Hand’s is a must-visit.

Coincidentally, I was attending an off-site Twin Commander technical summit and to my absolute delight Slow Hand Craft BBQ was providing their delicious BBQ specialties. To say I was pleasantly surprised with quality tenderness and taste of pulled pork (my preferences in BBQ) is an understatement. The pulled pork was so yummy that I considered renaming it a 'vanishing pulled pork' as attendees just couldn't get enough of it. Next time, I'm in Peoria, I'd be hitting the restaurant itself!
The whole event was superbly planned and executed by a well matched Event Planning team - 'enVision' , who were absolutely flying all over us, catering to our spoiled requests here and there 🙏

The meat was tender, however, in my opinion, they used too much dry rub (salt, pepper, etc) to cook the ribs. The spices on the ribs overpowered the flavor of the sauces to some degree.

Order at counter. Lightning quick service once you're seated. Array of BBQ sauces. My Texan date said it's as good as the BBQ joints there. We loved our food.

Tried the Slow Hand Sampler and it hit the spot. Only problem was, I got too excited and forgot to grab a pic of the sampler before eating. Oops! Everything was delicious. Turkey wasn’t my favorite, but my gf said she liked it. Guess I’m just not big on turkey. But the sausage, brisket, pulled pork, pork belly burnt ends, mac n cheese, corn muffin, baked beans n slaw were all good. I’d say in the top 2-3 BBQ restaurants in Peoria, and I’ve had them all. Not cheap, but let’s be honest…don’t eat cheap bbq. You get what you pay for. If you found cheap bbq somewhere else, I’m sorry, you’ll know why as soon as you taste it. Very nice decor at atmosphere inside!
