Great staff, spirits, and mixed drinks in a historic building. Their navy strength rum makes a top notch painkiller! Also, check out Thyme restaurant across the street while you are in the area.
Resting Agave Old Fashioned was great. Great live music. Friendly people. A wonderful unique setting.
Mariah provided the best and friendiest service! What an amazing and cool establishment with such an amazing staff and great drinks!
A visit to the physical location of Star Union Spirits is on my short bucket list! Jeff Yasowitz and I share a business network. Jeff is the face of the fun part of what a craft distillery represents. He sets up tastings at events both large and small. I recently bought sample (airline-sized) bottles to give as marketing giveaways in my own business. I attended a national Realtor network meeting and shared how these samples could be full-sized closing gifts. The possibilities are endless!!
best folks you'll ever meet
We love finding these local craft distilleries because they do things different than the big corporate distillery and Star Union Spirits is no exception. It's obvious they take great pride in their products and it shows in the results.
Their 75-25 Whiskey is very good but I personally think their Bottled-in-Bond Rye is one of the best rye whiskeys I've had. The higher proof gives it a punch that makes you pay attention and the long pepper finish reminds you why everyone should love drinking a good rye. Full disclosure- I did end up buying a bottle of each for my home bar.
I also want to thank the bartender for being creative with building a grapefruit vodka cocktail and the owner for taking the time to give us an in-depth tour and tell us history about the history of the place.
Highly recommend as a destination for a day trip or just stop by an impromptu happy hour.
Cool atmosphere, lots of spirits to try, exceptional service
Disappointing visit. Hours are 11am to 4pm on Tuesdays. The open sign was on but the doors were locked. I could see people inside. Tried calling but got voicemail. Received a text a couple minutes later and asked if they were open but no response for 30 minutes. Finally recieved text saying yes. I let them know the doors were locked but no response for 3 hours. Finally heard back but just stating hours of operations. I went out of my way from Chicago to St. Louis to stop by for the first time. As I heard really good things about their juice on YouTube. The lack of awareness for service was disappointing.
Stopped in on a Saturday after hiking at Starved Rock. Excellent cocktails, fantastic staff, very friendly spot. Dog friendly & comfortable environment with extensive cocktail menu (all of which are well-made, at least the ones we tried). Highly recommend.
We just had a private event here, and I need you to know how amazing this place is. The owners were so easy and fun to work with. The staff was amazing and so kind. At one point while we were decorating, the owner noticed a table had a wobbly so he stopped what he was doing to come and fix it. The drinks were so delicious, and the tasting room is GORGEOUS. Decorating is a breeze when you are in such a gorgeous space. There is also a perfect set up for serving food which is so nice. If you are considering them for an event, do yourself a favor and choose them!

Cool to see a distillery with so much to offer. Bartender was excellent, and really knew how to pour a drink. That may have been the best New York Old Fashioned I've ever had. Derek Jeter would approve.
This is our second time here. We live in ohio, and it has brought us back twice. I'm glad to see the new liquors they have added since our original stop several years ago. The staff were very talkative and helped us expand from our usual drinks. By far, it's one of my favorite small batch distilleries. Also appreciated the local food suggestions.
A small batch micro distillery that produces fantastic craft beverages inside Peru's historic Westclox building.
They have a diverse selection of fruited brandies, rums, whiskey and vodka.
They offer an array of handcrafted cocktails as well as tours and bottles for purchase.
The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. We were lucky to meet Casey,an award winning distiller that gave us a brief history tour of the Westclox building,Peru and his background in the business.
We visited on a Friday afternoon and it was not crowded so we had a nice conversation with the bartender ( sorry we don't have a name) as she made us some of the best cocktails we ever had. My wife had the Expresso Martini and I had an Old Fashion. Great flavor and reasonably priced.
Check their website for hours and tour options.
This is a real hidden gem and we can't wait to go back!
Nice tour! Interesting history of Westclocks and Star Union! Great cocktails! Wish we could have seen you classmate Bob Windy!
We visited while traveling to Starved Rock but this place is worth it’s own visit! First we had a tour with Jeff one of the owners who gave us the history chemistry and artistry of spirit making!
Michael the bartender makes the most amazingly delicious drinks. Try the old fashioned and the root bear float! Mariah was attentive and friendly! Guys, I’m not really a drinker but this alcohol is amazingly smooth and delicious. I drank more than usual and get this NO HANGOVER at all! This is going on my list of places to visit regularly. You can also purchase full size bottles here or online.
Some places in Chicago sell it but not all the flavors, so make a trip over here! Sorry I keep forgetting to take good review pics, but the vibe was chill with recycled wood tables, comfy couches and a giant glass window view of the distillery!
