Madison was lovely as our server this most recent visit. attentive, welcoming, & prompt.
Went on a Sunday night & had a lackluster dinner compared to numerous other visits. New menu, later in the evening on a weekend. But undercooked veggies & lukewarm sides were not ideal.
every other time I have been to sovereign, the food has been great. hopefully the new menu changes are better after the first week of service with them.

Food was excellent! Service was ABOVE average. Cocktails were Excellent also, so good almost had us staying to long and drinking too much!! Our bill was expensive but it was because of all the drinks we had!! *Update-Sorry just happened to reread my post and realized I missed a word somehow! Service was Above average not just average. Had to correct.*

Came into Sovereign on a Saturday night with 3 buddies. Got Sat right away and waitress was over quickly to take our drink order. Vibe is nice but a bit dark for a guys night. Would be a great place for a date night. We all had the Burger and it was amazing. Everything you look for in a good burger. Cheesy, good char and the special sauce and grilled onions take it over the top. Bourbon menu is substantial and was a pleasant surprise. Will definitely be back to try more of the menu!

We always have a great time here! Food is solid, beer list stacked, vibes up my alley, and friendly staff! Service can be a little slow depending but we weren’t in any rush! They had sports on some TVs and kids movies on the other. Our 16 month old loved the food and Halloween decorations. Highly recommend when you’re in Plainfield!

So we walked in and the place was super dark , had issues seeing the menu to even order, was weird having tvs behind the booths bc they were the brightest thing in the room . Wasn't thet enjoyable being there bc they were blasting Spanish music that was so loud I couldn't hear the person sitting next to me. It made me feel like I was at a night club but in a high end restaurant. We asked to sit outside when we arrived but they told us there was no seating even tho there was 5 tables open. Might give this place a second try but would not be at night time again!

We’ve always loved Sovereign for its incredible food, unique dishes, elevated cocktails, and amazing vibe — and they absolutely outdid themselves for our wedding!
Jessica was fantastic to work with and Chef John not only wowed us at our tasting but personally helped customize our wedding menu. The food on our big day was unforgettable — our guests are still raving about how delicious everything was! The staff and bartenders were professional, friendly, and worked so hard to make the night perfect.
Whether you’re stopping in for dinner and cocktails or planning a wedding menu, Sovereign will always be one of our favorite places — and now it holds an extra special place in our hearts.
Beautiful restaurant. Great service. Right downtown, parking is pretty much all street parking. Food was good but nothing that really made me say wow. Overall good restaurant and I'd go back.

Sovereign has matured into being the old guard in downtown Plainfield. That's not to say it has rested on its laurels or stagnated in any way. In fact, Sovereign has found a way of keeping what works (Wiccan Chicken) while adding new and interesting items to the menu. Sovereign sets the standard of what food can and should be in Lockport St.
