We went to the Grainery last night for their fried chicken dinner. It was the best. Totally recommend driving to Pleasant Plaines to the Grainery. It will be worth the trip!
3 friends and I went tonight 10/28 for dinner and Bingo. Food was excellent, waitresses were awesome. I had a lot of fun and we will be back. Thank you

Our party of 7 met up in Pleasant Plains from Kansas and Ohio, and wanted to find a local place to eat. So glad we ended up at the Grainery! Bridget was an awesome host and server, so warm and friendly, and helped us feel at home. The food was delicious; most of us tried (and loved) the corn nuggets, and no one left any food on our plates from the variety of sandwiches we ordered. We were out of towners but felt welcomed like family. Thanks for a great experience!

We arrived slightly before noon, ordered walleye dinner with baked beans and Cole slaw. Smaller restaurant that was clean and well kept, greeted immediately after sitting. The fish was outstanding, Cole slaw had a hometown flavor that was very good, and the baked beans had really good flavor with bacon bits and onion, that you could tell was actually home cooked. 🤓🙂😃
We were visiting Jacksonville and looking for something different. We found this very off the beaten path diner and thought we'd give it a try. (20 minute +/- drive from Jacksonville) We arrived at noon and the place was packed. Rustic mix of local townspeople, very casual. Wednesday was fried chicken special day so three of our four had that special. Frankly it was some of the best fried chicken I've had and I live in the south! One person ordered the Rueben which was spot on and very good. Full menu and selection of soda's and beers. This one visit was our only opportunity to eat here but there's a Taco day and Country Fried Steak day too. This spot could very well end up on Guy Fieri's "Tripple D show". Visit before they become famous! I'll be going back on my next visit to Jacksonville. New outdoor area is coming soon.
Great food, Great bartenders, ask for Bridget, she is the best!
They have the COLDEST drafts on tap! My favorite… Busch Light with the ice cold frosty mug! Perfect!
The food is amazing when you finally get waited on and get your food. The previous staff was much more efficient. One server had flip flops on with sweat pants. 2nd time here in 2 weeks with poor service. We have been here pretty much every Friday/Saturday night for 2 years. We gave another chance after poor service last Friday but we will not be back
