The bartender was so sweet & the atmosphere was very welcoming, laidback and fun! The mixed drinks I got were great and my boyfriend got some of the local beers and really enjoyed them! Really happy this is the place we ended up stopping at after our walk around the downtown.
Just had a need for a cold beer ? and stopped in here. The atmosphere is true to an old Mississippi River town bar. The bartender we had was amazing. I believe her name was Vennesa. She gave us some of the background of the bar and city. She filled us in on some of the breweries in the area. Great place to take a break from the road.
I like a good dive bar. Old domestic beer, cheap liquor, pool, darts, minimal entertainment but for the people around you. A good hole in the wall is a pleasure unto itself. I'm not sure I have that sort of place in my repertoire for a good hang, but I'd happily do an after work session at Peacocks Tavern pending similar minded work compatriots agreeing to it.The building facade looks old. The screen door and main door reflect this assessment. The bar itself does nothing...
