This place is my goto and it never disappoints. I celebrated my grandson's 10th birthday and he had a ball. He got up and danced to the music. He loved the Mac n cheese, shrimp, sliders, and the grilled chicken. Yes he ate all that!! I had the shirt rib potatoe. Excellent!! My parents had the salmon croquet. They even let us share the small cake we brought. The entire waitstaff is always so friendly and accommodating. I'm here a few times a month, bringing in my out of town friends and family members. They love it and always request it when they're in town. Sometimes the music is way too loud but that's for the crowd at that time. I like how they know when to turn up the volume. I know when "my" times best so I can continue to enjoy this Black-owned business hopefully for many years.

We had a 4p reservation. We were seated right away. Our server was very slow, and not knowledgeable about what was going on. It was pretty empty when we arrived. Our food took an hour to arrive. Fried food at that. Very poor service.

Ate in once and the second time I ordered online and picked up. On October 14, 2025, I was given a pickup time of 5:07 PM. I was not sure if the food would be delivered to the car, so I waited outside until 5:15 PM. There was no one at the desk and after approximately five minutes I called out to a waitress who walked to the front bar without helping. Several minutes later a man asked me could be help. I gave him my name and got the food after 5:30 PM. I want to become a Red Star regular to eat in and pickup, but would like better service. The food was outstanding.

I did a Uber Eats order, and was missing a item , I went to get the item , instead of disputing it online, I asked for a complimentary lemonade, since I paid Uber Eats a delivery fee and tip , just to , have to still ride , with my 3 kids, to get my missing item ( I’m 4 months pregnant and wanted EXACTLY WHAT I PAID FOR, the girl , had the nerve to lie and tell me , they didn’t have any TO GO CUPS , as a young lady was walking pass me with one 😒😒😒😒😒 HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED‼️‼️‼️‼️

Y’all should be ashamed! I ordered a chicken Alfredo baked potato, paid extra for shrimp, and got no chicken, no shrimp, and a hard ass baked potato. Red Star’s service is trash and now the food is too. I’m done spending my money there — never again!

I reserved my table for 8 people. They only seated 6 of us the other 2 people had to stand. After a while I spoke with the manager and he brought over another chair but my last person had to stand up

I went last night for the first time. I'm glad I gave it a chance. I thought it was just for the younger crowd, but the crowd was very diverse—people from 21 to 51. The crowd definitely was mature(no matter how old). Crab cakes are a must-try! Drinks were just okay. Service was amazing. I forgot our server’s name, but he was amazing. I will definitely be back. You can go to this place for date night, ladies/guys ' night, or to hang out with your adult children. Thanks Red Start for getting it right!👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🎉

My group decided to meet for lunch and fellowship at Red Star Kitchen & Bar. There is plenty of parking and also handicapped accessible entry. The menu offered various entrees. I decided on catfish and grits served with a delicious roux. Crystal, our server, was efficient, friendly, and attentive. We were impressed. The food presentation was good, our drinks were topped with beautiful orchids. We agreed that the restaurant was clean, nicely decorated, and the food was tasty. There was a nice crowd of patrons eating, and people at the bar enjoying cocktails. There is an enclosed outdoor area for those wishing to eat outside. The restrooms are clean and stocked. Our impression was unanimous. We all liked everything. The only exception is the D.J. had the volume up to the point that we couldn't converse. It was entirely too loud. This may deter older patrons from returning. Give them a try, you may be glad you did!

The food is always good and happy is even greater... but the service is shitty... they had us standing at the door for about 10 15mins not bc they was sooo crowded but because they didn't want to sit us at the hi top tables... but we sat and then we left didnt order anything.... I've been there so many times that my friend wanted to go because she never been their... but she night not go back... get some professional or some experiences workers who cares about serving your customers... when you are asking for 18 to 20% in gratuity the service should be decent....
