I visited for the first time last night. I'm only rating a 4 because the server didn't understand my guy when he ordered the halal ki beer * he did say the beer part and a fruity drink came. I ended up switching with him, but the drink was tasty. Also, outside I wish there was music of some sorts playing. We tried to use TouchTunes but it wasn't working my other friend said

They have a dumb rule about outside water bottles not being allowed inside. I don't want your unfiltered toilet grade tap water. And no wifi. Get with the times and be practical with these superfluous decrees.
The decoration is great tho.

I had set up a surprise birthday party here this past Friday for my sister because we’ve always enjoyed this place. I emailed about a month in advance when I set up the first reservation, but never heard back. When I needed to add more people, I had to add a second reservation. A week before the reservation, my friend when in to discuss it with them. She requested the back patio to allow for more room. On the day of, my friend went in early to set up. The patio wasn’t open and my friend had to push for them to turn on the lights and heat. The manager was a jerk to us and yelled at us for taking extra space, saying that he had other reservations for that area. We didn’t have all of the seats we requested, and no one sat at the extra table that we put stuff on the entire time we were there. The server acted annoyed with us, and truly did not want to help us. While this place is good to grab a drink with a small group, don’t go there for any type of party. This is not the only review like this regarding larger groups.
I came years ago and loved it! But today it was very disappointing. Made a reservation and got stuck in a little corner, not on the patio or in the main dining room. When I asked if we could change tables, the hostess said no, because she already seated another large party. (There were 6 of us) On the reservation I noted we were celebrating a birthday. No acknowledgement of that. (Why ask on the reservation??) Ordered chips and got small pieces and crumbs. Other tables had cute lit up snow globes. Ours had nothing. I wish it was a better experience.

Such an iconic place, the selection of cocktails with the old school vibe of one of (if not THE) oldest Tiki bars in Chicagoland is woth the visit. Try the 1944 Mai Tai, it's solid!

A true Tiki Lounge! Not the tourist traps you find in chicago. Huge menu with all sorts of tiki cocktails and mocktails. As an avid rum consumer, i loved their very extensive and diverse selections of both Rum and Rhum. Google the difference if you aren't familiar. Took a while to find the right drink for me. So many choices. The atmosphere and decor was laid back but at the same time a nice escape from everyday life. I will have to be back, with a designated driver. 🧉😁🔥
