For a restaurant in a Zoo, this place is impressive; especially the quality of the food. Got a cheeseburger and the crispy clucker - both hit the spot, and the fries were super fresh. Our friends got the roasted acorn squash pizza which was great - squash and brie on a pizza at a Zoo restaurant??? Nut - recommend after the dolphin show!

The black lady with long red braids has a serious attitude problem and also had an issue with me returning the pizza I paid 14 dollars for was still frozen

The pizza was good. The chicken tender were subpar, and the garden burger was almost inedible. Just make a vegetarian burger like a regular burger it doesn't have to be fancy. Ordering was easy enough, and for discounts, just put BKZmember under promo even if you're not. The place wasn't too packed when we went were about to easily get a table, but I bet this place is full on the weekends.

Vegetarian options: The garden burger is the worse vegetarian burger I personally have ever had.

Better seating than cafe del sol but it's the same hospital food. Everyone there is nice and helpful and the bathrooms are always well taken care of.

We arrived at the zoo, bought zoo membership, entered the zoo with my granddaughter and son. My wife and I were a bit hungry so we decided to hit BZ red Hots for a hot dog. HUGE MISTAKE. First of all we were thinking Chicago style hot dog. They loaded dog had watercress (what is that), chopped convictions (again never heard of that), charred herb aioli (what herbs, and who puts that on a hot dog) and watercress (on a hot dog...). There was nobody around to ask questions, so we ordered cheese burgers. This should be a quick process. Nobody told us it would take an hour to fill the order. We are at a zoo with a 4 year old. We don't mind waiting for a bit, but a 4 year old should not be expected to wait for 57 MINUTES. Once we found other people were waiting over 40 minutes for two plain hot dogs, we sent my granddaughter with friends to enjoy the zoo while we waited. There were very many guests who were very unhappy waiting. We could not cancel our order. We kind of felt like prisoners. I did talk to other customers getting ready to order at the kiosk and let them know the wait time. The were appalled, but thanked me for letting them know. They decided to eat elsewhere in the zoo. I asked two employees to let people know the wait time. They said good idea, but nobody told the customers. I was greatly disappointed with this lack of service. We waited on the outside area for our order. When another customer came out with food, I asked him how long ago he ordered. He said 50 minutes so I went inside to wait the next few minute. It was good that I did this. They were not activating the pager disks to let us know our order was ready. Another thing they did not do well. The BZ red Hots really needs to get some training from chick filet management to better serve the zoo members. It was disappointing that we missed a great deal of time with our granddaughter and son visiting animals. By the time we caught up with them, many of the favorites were visited without us.The food was good, but the wait was unbearable. The loaded hot dog ingredients should be made clear to average people. Nobody I talked with knew what the ingredients were....Would recommend the food, but order before you leave home and it might be ready when you arrive.

Vegetarian options: Vegetarian burger

Kid-friendliness: Not kid friendly due to the Super excessive time from placing order to receiving the order.

Terrible service and ungodly over priced! 4 hot dogs and it was over $40 and took about a HOUR to get food. It's has kiosk for orders and there's no advanced warning that it's soooooooo slooooooooowwwww.... Bring your own food and avoid at all cost if you can. It wasn't even that busy!

I don’t know why it says they’re open till 6 pm. It’s not true, on busiest weekends they close at 4 pm like every other eating establishment in this zoo. Either way, this place is bad. Food is disgusting and overpriced. I highly recommend you eat somewhere else before you visit Brookfield zoo. There is no good diner here.

They say "you are what you eat". I don't look like hamburgers and hotdogs. As long as you don't eat them every day it should be OK. I've quit chocolate, donuts and coffee. That's a start. Now I need to walk more. OK . . .

BZ Red Hots. Located near Seven Seas, map location E13. Choose from a variety of summer foods including Pizza, Cheeseburgers, Hot Dogs, Tuscan Chicken Sandwich.Buy the souvenir cup for $12, get free refills til the end of the year.Great selection of food and drinks at the zoo.Five-piece Chicken Nuggets, Mac-N-Cheese, Pizza or Hot Dog with french fries or chips. Served with milk or Capri Sun juice.Everything is pretty tasty (for zoo food) and hard to beat in the zoo. It gets really crowded right at noon, so it's best to show up before noon to grab a spot to sit.

Recommended dishes: Cheeseburger, Pepperoni Pizza, Kid

$11.50 for a pepperoni pizza that was one of the worst I'd ever had. I couldn't even finish it. The kids didn't like it either. The cheese had a weird texture. The sauce was terrible. The crust was doughy. And I get it... it's a zoo and prices will be inflated. But I still cannot accept the fact that it's legit to charge $83 for 4 of these pizzas, a cheeseburger with fries, 1 pop, 2 hot chocolates, and a water (family of 5).I live in the neighborhood and have a zoo membership. Never again. Live and learn.
