We went to White Fence Farm on Mother’s Day to pick up a simple 8-piece meal after a long day with family. When we arrived, someone was already getting a refund – that should have been a red flag. It took a few minutes before we could even place our order, only to be told they were out of fritters and shrimp. Okay, fine. We sat in a crowded waiting room while they called order 34. We were 49. The kitchen was moving painfully slow, and the fryers were smoking up the whole area.

After 30 minutes of waiting, they announced they were out of fries. That was it for us – we canceled our order and joined the line of other people getting refunds. They were only at order 38, and people in the waiting room said they’d been there for nearly an hour. It felt like being stuck at an airport.

I genuinely love the food here, and the staff are usually friendly, but the wait times and lack of preparation are unacceptable. It’s frustrating that management didn’t plan ahead for a busy day like Mother’s Day. Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time we’ve waited far too long for chicken. Great food, but not worth the chaos.

Waited an hour for my food. It was just some fries and a four piece. Just stick with the main chicken restaurants.

In my opinion, the shrimp tasted frozen & the chicken was gummy.

Fritters I've been eating for yes they are not the same. They are toooo crunchy and it's just loaded with powdered sugar and where's the corn on the inside ????

Have been a fan of White Fence Farm since I was a kid. My parents started going to the original restaurant when it first opened in the 1950’s. The chicken at the carry out locations is as good as the main restaurant. Can’t go wrong.

Where shall I begin? Let’s start from the top shall we. We enter the restaurant, ask for table for 3, the greeter tells us what room to go to but not how to get there or where it is. The decor is from the late seventies possibly early 80:s. The carpet appears to have been there since the place first opened. Next. Is a demographics issue. 95 percent of the diners are elderly which means the restaurant is only drawing in older customers. Not that I mind older customers. The problem is if this restaurant fails to attract younger people they will not last long. The fourth issue is the menu. They have family style bowls filled with canned beets and an onion, coleslaw, corn fritters., and this strange kidney bean salad. It’s an odd assortment. The only thing we touched were the corn fritters. We order the fried chicken dinner which comes with one side. I chose the mash potatoes and gravy . My significant other chose the Mac and cheese. The mash potatoes come from a box and I am sure the yellow weird concoction called gravy was from a can. The mac and cheese was probably pre made frozen Stouffers. My best guess. Anyways the only thing they did right was the fried chicken. This restaurant needs to scrap the weird beginning family style bowls. I would suggest home made biscuits, butter and homemade jam for the table. The sides should be fresh homemade mash potatoes, corn on the cob, homemade mac and cheese, fried okra, and grilled asparagus. A fresh new menu and an updated decor would do wonders.

The fried chicken was good but pass on the nuggets. Also they didn’t send my fritters so check your bag

On Sunday, 29 Sep. 24 I the occasion to visit the Riverside. IL. location (Take only).

Must say upon getting to my residence, I was totally disappointed. I specifically asked for a bowl of chicken gravey, a bowl of beets.

The lady waiting on me was doing just fine. Then a male came up to interrupt. He was more concerned about charging me an extra $1.00 for the bowel of beets. Only received a minimal portion of fritters ie; 5 or 6.

This location is TRULY disappointing. From now on I will only PATRONIZE Romeoville, IL.

Better managment is needed!!!!!!!!!!!
