best italian food in the area. it’s a family owned business, and they are so welcoming. Truly make you feel like part of the family. definitely recommend the lobster ravioli, gnocchi, calamari, crab cakes and for dessert the torta. Come support this amazing place!
Stop searching for a good Italian restaurant. Casa Di Luigi is the place to go. Food is made fresh daily unlike your big chain restaurants. I ordered the pork chops stuffed with crab meat and was not disappointed. The calamari for appetizer was on another level and the martini was amazing. This place is really customer focused and can customize any meal to meet your diet. Thank you to the staff and Owner's for a wonderful experience.
Took my fiancé for her birthday & we had an amazing time! We got complementary dessert because it was her birthday! The bread, our appetizer, dinner, & dessert were delicious! The server was so sweet & kind, couldn't ask for a better birthday dinner. Will definitely be coming back & bring our friends & family!
A true hidden gem. I was a bit skeptical when I walked in due to the lack of bar, but ordered an Old Fashioned regardless and it exceeded expectations. Now onto the food-they brought out the bread and hummus, which was a nice change from the typical bread and olive oil. I ordered the Gnocchi Norcina and it rivaled any pasta dish in downtown Chicago (unexpected). Highly recommend!
The BEST Italian dinner. This place is a hidden gem! The food is fresh, the ambiance is perfect, and the service was top tier. Highly recommend for a suburban Italian date night!
Amazing place with amazing service. Thought the food was great and definitely recommend!
Decided to go to this place for my birthday as a new experience with the family. Unfortunately, the food was very bland. The Alfredo sauce basically had no taste with tough noodles and my son said the gnocchi tasted like it had some Asian brown sauce - not good. They let you know that the wine is half off. On the bill though, they charged an extra $2 on the wine as if we wouldn't notice. There were 4 of us and we got 4 thin strips of facacia bread. Nothing else seems to come with the pasta. Unfortunately, spending over $160, this was quite the disappointment. They did give me some taramasu for my birthday which is why I gave a second star.
Update as to reply from owner: I had looked forward to the birthday dinner and had not eaten much all day. I asked for parmesan to get more flavor, which I would have expected for the price to have been freshly grated, it was not. I didn't see a point to saying anything as I didn't want any kind of confrontation and questioned how it would be corrected. I do question these other reviews. While I wish all small businesses well, it was a costly experience for my family for Italian food we really did not enjoy.
Owners are fantastic, Food was amazing as well. Definitely would recommend to others 👊🏾
Definitely a hidden gem. The great reviews are well deserved. Our food was outstanding and Blanca our server delivered on the service. Looking forward to our next visit.

This was a pleasant surprise - I was in town to help my parents who were having health problems and my Dad likes Italian food (I am not a fan). He goes to the same place every week, so I wanted to broaden his choices and took a chance. He made the comment that when we were driving up, the place looked like it was on it last legs (it is in a strip of marginally maintained retail/corporate). However his opinion changed because the food was fantastic --- my Dad loves mushrooms and they had a number of dishes with mushrooms -- the wine list was plentiful and the service was friendly. He even said that it was comparable to his favorite place. The best part was that my Dad deferred on dessert and I ordered the chocolate cake --- and after saying he would have one bite, ate half of it. Our family has been through a lot this month, so thanks to this place for making the first happy memory we have had in a while.
Food was excellent and service was great. Will definitely come back. Sea bass was delicious and so was the rigatoni!
Good service and nice atmosphere, quiet and pleasant, food was really good and served quite quickly.
Another exceptional meal! Imaginative, creative presentations: buffalo mozzarella Panna cotta sprinkled with chopped prosciutto cherry tomatoes, eggplant marmalade, a balsamic and a pesto sauce was a light presentation full of flavor Crab cakes were a unique format with nice flavorful kick from chipotle pepper and anchovy aioli. The special, delicately fried zucchini, flowers with pecorino and goat cheese were sublime The ricotta gnocchi were light and flavorful far better than potato gnocchi excellent. The desserts were amazing. I love the almond, semi-freddo with the flaming, semi sweet chocolate sauce. Another notable: the deconstructed crème brûlée with Philo and peach soaked in sangria was delicious. We shared the bread pudding and the tiramisu parfait also An excellent meal in a relaxed atmosphere with great (unobtrusive ) music in the background easily able to carry on a conversation ....and excellent service!
BEST Italian food in Illinois, this place is absolutely amazing. We got the poblano soup and the rigatoni alla traverstin and it was the best pasta and soup I have ever had. I requested it to be spicy, and they made it exactly how I wanted it, it was wonderful! My husband ordered his without the spice and it was just as amazing. Also, it is very refreshing to have a restaurant where all of the waiter and waitresses have conversations with the guests, it was so great to see. We had Susanna and her sister and they were so sweet to us. They all are so hospitable and genuinely great people. We have tried many many Italian restaurants in the area, and this is by far the best one and a must try.
