Never been to this location but the food was amazing. The steak and cheese croissant was top shelf (I added grilled onions) Only issue was the order taker who seemed off put that I didn't give her a tip for taking my order? If that a thing now?
Very relaxing and fun atmosphere, and reasonable prices make this landmark totally worth the visit. I do look forward to stopping in again!

UPDATE: Been back here 10x since my initial review and I love this place. Food is amazing, consistant, fast, and good value. This is my must-stop joint!,

Beef was delicious, but much smaller than it used to be. We had hot dogs, polish sausage and a beef in the bag and I couldn't tell the difference without opening. There was a time you could tell which was which my size and weight. That time has past.

Been going downhill for a few years now since private equity bought them. Less food, less taste and usually gets the order wrong, which they did again for me on latest visit. Older locations are really looking rundown, like this one.

To the young man taking orders outside in 13 degree freezing weather tonight: I pointed out your positive energy to my kids - that you were a great example of being the best you be no matter the conditions - and my son said I needed to recognize you online somehow! Thank you, wish we could have given you a tip, and hope you are warm by now!

Whenever I make it back to Chicago i have to stop in for an Italian beef or hot dog like none other. It's wonderful to taste the favor.
