This is an appreciation post for Chef Ben and the McWethy’s team. We purchased tickets for my daughter and husband to attend tonight’s Daddy Daughter Dance. Though exciting, outings that include meals can be difficult due to our daughter’s severe dairy allergy. I saw the disclaimer on the event ticket that said to call and speak with the chef if there were dietary restrictions. I called and I don’t know where to even begin.
Ben spoke with me in detail about my daughter’s allergy and showed a level of empathy you would only expect from someone who you knew personally. I gave a suggestion of noodles with olive oil for a simple meal for her and Ben emphasized the importance of our daughters experience. He was dedicated to providing her with the experience that every other child was getting at the dance. I was in tears on our call simply because I have never been met with this level of compassion and understanding when it comes to our daughter’s allergy - something that has been difficult for us to navigate.
That’s not the end - Ben even contacted me the day of to let me know ahead of time the meal they prepared. Ben met my husband at the event and brought their meals out away from the other food to avoid cross contamination. They made her a dairy free mac n cheese, chicken tenders and two mini cakes (one with dairy free cream cheese and another with dairy free chocolate). My husband said he could hardly peel her away from the table to dance because she was eating all night - A very happy girl! We cannot thank Ben and the team enough for seeing us….and providing our daughter with an amazing experience tonight. We couldn’t be more thankful for this kind gesture and for the McWethys team.

As usual, this classy place rocks. Walking in, you'd expect higher prices, but don't worry. The beer selection is always on point, and the FOOD. Their food is always delicious. French onion soup. Tavern Fish Sandwich. Lamb Burger. Turkey Sandwich. All of it was fabulous. This weekend there were 5 of us. Food, beer, wine, and a couple doggie-bags, and the bill was under $135

I have eaten here many times. I have also ordered off uber eats from here many times. The food and atmosphere are always great. I would recommend to anyone who hasn’t been here before. Very well priced for what you receive. And I would like to thank the manger Sara for helping me out with the onion rings. She was very helpful and pleasant. Great restaurant and great staff.
Been back her several times now. A phenomenal experience every time. The food is always delicious and the service is alway goes above and beyond. They are extremely accommodating of food allergies.
