I've been to almost every BBQ restaurant in the West Burbs: Real Urban BBQ (closed), Q-BBQ, Doc Watson's, and I have to say that Bub City is aggressively mid. I loved the door as you enter and the ambiance. I walked in holding my parking ticket and mentioned my 7 PM reservation. I was NOT asked if I wanted to validate my parking (which was later an embarrassment as I left the parking garage). I reserved a table for 2 and we were placed at a six person booth. I asked for a low top, give me what I reserved. I might have enjoyed that had it been a third or fourth date but it was the FIRST date. Their house draft beer wasn't bad and the meat was tender, but it didn't have much flavor to it. Other BBQ restaurants give you 4-6 sauces to choose from. Bub gives you only one with your meal with coleslaw and turnips. Half of the night was a pleasant experience, and half of the night wasn't. I'm rounding down to two stars.

Our waitress was extremely nice. She read a comment i made on our reservation which was amazing. She chatted with us a bit and although we have been here many times this was also nice. The manager came up and had a discussion with us about our history with bub city and it was awesome to hear his story and they were just very kind. Even the bus boy stopped and had a small conversation with us. The food was great and we really enjoyed this date night out.

We had a group of 8 to celebrate at 75th birthday and everyone enjoyed their meals. The service was great. We'll be back for sure!

The food was very mediocre BBQ food and quite pricey. I got the wings, which were pretty good but undersauced and a bit undercooked. The brisket plate only had two small pieces of brisket, but it was good. The server was very friendly and quick. The atmosphere is great if you like country. We spent about $325 for 4 people with 2 apps, each and entree, and a few drinks, so not quite worth it with the small portion sizes.

Fantastic lunch. The chicken sammich was delicious and juicy. The crisp on it was prefect! Service was great, friendly waiter, really on top of our table. The brisket grilled cheese was delicious. The brisket had a great smoke on it. All the appetizers looked great, the one we had, can't remember the name, but it was do good. We will be back. One thing...the vorn bread was ok, ours had a strange taste to it. I'm not sure it was right. I'll have try it again because I love cornbread with honeybutter that they have. Other than that it was a great lunch.

Nice place, good service and food, but the volume was WAY too loud. We were there during a Bears football game, and the volume was so loud we could not even talk to each other across our small bar table without yelling. I understand that people want to hear the game, but you should be able to talk to your server without screaming. We asked our server if it could be turned down just a little, and we were told that they wouldn't even consider it. We left at half time to find another place. Good food and good service, but I would never go there again during a sporting event.

My waiter was absolutely awesome and very helpful with the menu. I asked for a food recommendation between the Mac and cheese brisket and a salad and brisket. The suggestion he made of the mac & cheese was spot on! It is worth driving 45 minutes for! He had wonderful energy in helping us celebrate my husband‘s 55 birthday!
