I used to be a faithful costumer for special occasions. I had cakes done for my kids there in a spam of 7 years. I have just removed a 5 review I posted here 3 years ago. It even had pictures of my children in them. We had an unfortunate experience with the last birthday cake. To sum it up: the Price was off, cake had wrong color, new cake rushedly prepared with wrong color and the taste was not the same as the previous years and the original cake was allegedly thorwn out. After all the mental and financial stress it caused me in the morning of my kids party, Instead of complaining or arguing for a refund. I decided i did not have the energy. Removed my previous review and will order cakes in a different location next time.

They have an amazing variety of sweet mexican bread. They also serve gorditas of Chicharron; restrooms and green with cheese. Champurrado and and so delicious desserts like flan, cheese cake, three milk cake, chocoflan, etc.

They refused to help me after spending almost $200.00 on the damaged cake! (DAMAGED CAKE IN WHITE BOX)
I went to Sam's Club and bought two cakes (BEAUTIFUL CAKE, perfectly decorated by my husband and I) for under $50.00. We decorated them using the decor I bought from amazon to to go on the cake purchased from La LUZ.
We reached out to the company more than 10 times attempting to speak with the manager since the day it happened. Mario(tall latino guy, he brought the cake out) indicated that he escalated the issue.
We have yet to receive an apology from the bakey, yet to receive a call back from the owners or a manager in charge.
The service speaks for itself. My famly and I have been customers with this bakey for more than 10 years, hell my husband went to high school with one of the daughters of the owner.
To show the owners we were not attempting to scam them, we returned the cake that same day and still have NOT HEARD BACK.
Considering that it was well over 100 degrees outside and the cake was made fresh that morning - still hot. they should have attempted to help a customer who has shopped with them for quite some time. We travel from wintrop harbor all the way to round lake due to loyality - but that has been shattered as the owners felt it was more important to keep the money for the cake and not offer us any kind of solution and kept going with his life.
He didnt care that my 2 year old niece was going to go without a cake for her party - mind you the cake was ordered 3 weeks in advance - it could have been made the night before to prepare for the hot weather!!!!!!!!
Needless to say, we will be taking our business elsewhere.
SHOP ELSEWHERE!!!! The Sam's cake was delicious, affordable, COLD, and quick. Took me and my husband 15 mins to assemble! Guys invest your money elsewhere.
