Was passing through and decided to stop after reading Travis Diveley’s review.
Enjoyed an awesome platter of Oysters on the Half shell for an appetizer, Prime Rib w fresh horseradish and roasted asparagus and a couple Cold Shinerbock beers.

Went in for a late dinner and ordered the brisket melt… totally the worst melt I ever had. 3 pieces of shaved brisket that was paper thin between two pieces of toast! It could have been a vegan sandwich. Place is supposed to be a barbecue place too! Not worth the price of 15.00. Long before we return here
The food was excellent, the staff was with it, the place was clean and the rest rooms were A+. This was our first time here and we'll come back.
Not worth the trip anymore. Have eaten here multiple times and lately each visit is more disappointing. Portion sizes decreasing with increased price. Service mediocre. Used to be a great spot so not sure what’s happening.
Great service. Beer COLD
Last visited in March 2021, this visit was Halloween Night 2022. Arrived at 7:45 PM, waited a long time to be seated. The place was empty. Had been there last, March 2021, this time ordered pickle app, it arrived wY over fried and far smaller servings. Ordered the Cubana Quesadilla, which was a greasy mess, lacking meat on most slices. the a e was empty, my server was missing in action. Never Again will here I Go. Stay Away
Excellent food! My husband had the smoked wings and I had the buttermilk chicken. Cute decor and friendly waitress! Oh, and clean bathrooms!
Great place to enjoy lunch while visiting Gustavus. No wait to get a table, even on a busy Friday afternoon. Service was prompt and friendly and the food was delicious. The burgers are the best in town. We'll definitely be back!
Very nice BBQ place! Greeted and seated immediately, very nice wait staff. Had the 1/4 rack of ribs, very tender, good selection of sauces. Coleslaw was not my style, but generous portion. Comfortable dining by myself in a booth in the bar area. Background music was not deafening, which was nice!!
So good! Our favorite place to eat in St. Peter. The buttermilk chicken sandwich and pulled pork sandwich were fantastic! The strawberry ginger mule was one of my wife’s favorite drinks ever. Extensive whiskey and bourbon list as well. They smoke all of their meats right in back, the smell is phenomenally. Finally the service can’t be beat! Super friendly staff. Caitlin was awesome.

Great food, service and atmosphere. The ribs were excellent, and even though the place was packed, the waitstaff was attentive and helpful. Definitely would recommend for BBQ in the area.
Terrific service at the bar. Burnt end appetizer with jalapeño honey….amazing. All entree’s were devoured. Corn muffins…. Yes!!! So glad we stopped by on the way back to Minneapolis from Mankato.
This is absolutely the best chicken sandwich! My budget makes me limit myself to once a week, but I never miss a week! Juicy with a crisp coating it's my special treat.
Pretty chill atmosphere and the people are pretty awesome. Definitely recommend.
On a recent visit to St. Peter, Minnesota, we asked friends for the best place in town to have dinner. Hands-down they recommended the 3rd Street Tavern. And be sure to have the ribs, they said. I’m a ribaholic and immediately questioned how good a rib joint in a small midwestern town could be. I must confess that I was more than pleasantly surprised. I was ecstatic. The 3rd St. Tavern is a homey, cozy bar and restaurant that serves fabulous pork ribs smoked to perfection. My only request is that they add several choices to their sugary sweet sauce lineup: a Kansas City style vinegar based sauce, and a Carolina mustard-based sauce. The owner did inform me that we were in the Midwest, but I think Midwesterners would enjoy having a few more sauce choices. To my everlasting surprise, it is but one of only two rib joints in Minnesota I know of that has wet brisket on the menu (wet is a juicier version of the otherwise dry —and tasteless— brisket) served in most Minnesota restaurants. Kudos to the 3rd Street Tavern! The sides, including a healthy portion of baked beans, coleslaw, and fries, were delicious. Many local beers on tap make this a great place to enjoy an excellent dinner. We’ll be back.
