Ta Canijo is such a gem! The food is always fresh and packed with authentic flavor, and I love that they have so many options to choose from. The customer service is just as amazing—everyone is so friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. Definitely one of my favorite spots to eat!

Ok, it’s a taco truck inside a truckstop. I started stopping here and getting tacos and tamales as soon as they opened. I’ve never been disappointed in the food or the service. I think they’re the best tacos I’ve had about anywhere. After 36 years driving over the road, I’ve eaten tacos about everywhere. The Al Pastor are my favorite and they do it right. I love the way they crisp up the corn tortillas on the griddle. Very nice touch! The tamales are amazing as well, I order one of each because I don’t know which is better. The service has always been friendly, prompt and with a beautiful smile. I make it a point to go down Illinois 394 just to stop here.
Tacos are fabulous and so are the burritos. Very friendly staff. However, I ordered a half dozen beef tamales and they are nothing but masa. Not a lick of meat in them. Paid almost 20 dollars for six sticks of corn paste. I will never give them my money again for tiny pathetic tamales again. You should do better for the people.
